INITIAL PREPARATION
Rinse the probe thoroughly in distilled water.
This is to minimize contamination of the cali-
bration solution and secure higher accuracy.
Pour a small quantity of
HI7037 Standard solution into
a plastic beaker or any other
solution to be used as 100%
reference.
When possible, use plastic
beakers to minimize any EMC
interferences.
PROCEDURE WITH ATC
• Press the NaCl key to enter the sea water
percentage mode, and the "NaCl" symbol
will appear on the large display.
• Press CAL and the LCD will display
"100.0%".
• Press the ENTER key and im-
merse the HI7686 probe into
the calibration solution submerg-
ing the holes of the sleeve into

(both in the Celsius and in the Fahren-
heit scale).
• During calibration once
the selected buffer value
is confirmed, "25°C" or
"77.0°F" will start blink-
ing on the TEMP. dis-
play to prompt the se-
lection of the calibration
temperature value.
• Take the temperature of
the solution with a
Checktemp or a glass thermometer.
• Enter the correct buffer temperature
value by using the numeric keys and
press ENTER to confirm the tempera-
ture setting.
• Continue the procedure as for calibra-
tion with ATC, but without temperature
probe connection.
