CHECKING THE TEMPERATURE
CALIBRATION
• Remove the sin-
tered cap from the
probe of HI 8666.
• Connect the unit to a 12 to 24VDC power
supply and hook up a multimeter (range
of 20mA) in series with the circuit.
• Place the HI 8666 into a stable tempera-
ture environment of 25°C, preferably a
temperature chamber, and wait for the
temperature to stabilize.
• Using a NIST certified thermometer as a
reference, e.g. ChecktempC/N, verify that
the ammeter reading is matching the tem-
perature, e.g. 13.00 mA for 25°C.
All temperature to mA conversions can
be made with the tables provided (see
page 16).
• Recheck the temperature at both 10°C
(10.00 mA) and 40°C (16.00 mA): they
should both be within ±1%.
If either setting is out of range, the unit
must be repaired or recalibrated electri-
cally. Contact your dealer or your closest
Hanna Service Center.
