steel external probe and 1.5 m (5’) P TFE coated cable.

In order to communicate with the

HI 140 thermologger the HI 92140

application software must be already

installed on your PC.

Connect the HI 90140 Infrared Trans-

mitter to your computer through an

available RS232 port.

Place the HI 140 on the cradle

of the transmitter.

Run HI 92140 software and re-

fer to the on-line help for any

further information about set-

ting the parameters of the

logger, acquire logged data, etc.

BATTERY REPLACEMENTBATTERY REPLACEMENT

BATTERY REPLACEMENT

Battery replacement must only take place in a non hazard-

ous area using the appropriate battery type (1.5V AA).

When the batteries need to be re-

placed, simply remove the four screws

on the rear cover of the logger and

replace the three batteries with new

ones paying attention to the correct

polarity. After replacing the batter-

ies, press the reset button on the

printed circuit board. The red LED blinks and then the

green LED stays on. Replace the cover and tighten the four

screws.

Note: When batteries are replaced all logger parameters

have to be set again by the user as soon as possible

to avoid draining the batteries.

WARRANTY

HI 140 loggers are warranted for one year against defects in workmanship and materials

when used for their intended purpose and maintained according to instructions. This warranty

is limited to repair or replacement free of charge. Damages due to accident, misuse,

tampering or lack of prescribed maintenance are not covered. If service is required, contact

the dealer from whom you purchased the instrument. If under warranty, report the model

number, date of purchase, serial number and the nature of the failure. If the repair is not

covered by the warranty, you will be notified of the charges incurred. If the instrument is to

be returned to Hanna Instruments, first obtain a Returned Goods Authorization Number

from the Customer Service department and then send it with shipment costs prepaid. When

shipping any instrument, make sure it is properly packaged for complete protection. To

validate your warranty, fill out and return the enclosed warranty card within 14 days from

the date of purchase.

Before using these products, make sure

that they are entirely suitable for the en-

Operation of these instruments in resi-

dential areas could cause unacceptable

requiring the operator to take all neces-

sary steps to correct interferences.

Any variation introduced by the user to

the supplied equipment may degrade the

instruments’ EMC performance.

To avoid damages or burns, do not per-

form any measurement in microwave

ovens.
