The SCANTEAM
®
2000 Series is a versatile, compact and rugged
interface which adds bar code, mag stripe and MICR automatic data
entry capability to IBM, NCR, Fujitsu, Nixdorf and other popular POS
terminals, PCs and CRT terminal-based systems. The ST2000
supports keyboard wedge, parallel (OCR), single and dual port serial
RS-232, OCIA and IBM 4680 synchronous interfaces.
The two scanner ports accept all types of hand held bar code scan-
ners including Hand Held Products SCANTEAM Series solid state
lasers, contact wand scanners, the ST3400 CCD scanner, and the
ST8300 MICR check reader. Dual or triple track credit card data input
from the ST6901 is via the MSR port; RS-232 data input is via a
bidirectional auxiliary port.
The ST2000 Series is fully programmable, allowing data input to be
formatted according to an application's program definitions. Its
advanced data formatting capability and universal design protects
against obsolescence.

2000 Series, which interfaces to most POS and
mainframe terminals, as well as PC systems, enhances productivity
and increases accuracy in a wide variety of retail applications. Sales
data is quickly and accurately collected, increasing customer satisfac-
tion and enhancing the retailer's competitiveness. In the "back room,"
in-store and distribution center receipts are quickly reconciled,
reducing shortages and time in the receiving cycle.

PROM firmware can be field programmed
via bar code menu, cloned, or factory set to ensure compatibility with
applications, now and in the future. The RS-232 port allows input from
in-counter or presentation style scanners, portable data collectors,
MICR check readers and PIN pads with full edit capability. Mag stripe
data from tracks 1, 2, and 3 can be selected/edited to meet credit
card issuer requirements, now and as they change. MICR data can
be edited to meet the requirements of a check authorization system.
