Tips from the Test Kitchen:
Use AIR FRY mode to crisp foods using little added oil.
Air frying cooks and browns evenly by circulating forced hot air
which crisps food with little to no added oil.
Check food for doneness before recommended packaging cook
time.
Rack position used to air fry depends on the size of the food to be
cooked. Keep at least 1 inch (2.5 cm) between food and heating
elements. Use middle rack position and place larger food in bottom
rack position.
Preheat the Oven for shorter cook times/improved crispness.
Arrange foods in a single, even layer in Air Fry Basket.
Avoid overfilling Basket so air flows around food to improve
crispness.
Cut uniform-sized pieces for even cooking results.
Avoid opening the Oven door while cooking frozen French fries or
chicken nuggets until the cooking cycle is nearly done.
Larger/thicker foods may need to be flipped or rotated during
cooking.
A light spritz of cooking oil before cooking provides crispier texture.
Breadcrumbs make crunchy air fried coatings. Avoid sauces or
batters.
Always use the Baking Pan on the rack under the Air Fry Basket to
catch drips.
Do not line the Air Fry Basket; that blocks air flow. Do line the
Baking Pan under the Basket for easy cleanup.
