WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Note - Data rate ►► Max. data transfer rate: The connection to your WLAN router is stable and the max. data transfer rate available via WLAN/WiFi can be achieved. ►► Good data transfer rate: The connection to your WLAN router is not optimal but is still sufficient; the max. data transfer rate available cannot always be achieved. ►► Adequate data transfer rate: The connection to your WLAN router is active but only barely. You cannot be sure that the connection will not be interrupted.

WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater • C heck the location in which you installed the repeater; we recommend plugging in the repeater for configuration in the immediate vicinity of your WLAN router. • Check whether the WPS function is activated in the firmware on your WLAN router or whether your WLAN router supports this procedure at all. • Check whether your WLAN network is using a hidden SSID; we recommend not hiding the SSID for the initial setup. • Check whether your WLAN network is using the 2.4 GHz band.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater The following screen is now displayed. • Enter admin in the “User name” box. • Enter hama in the “Password” box. • Click OK to log onto the repeater. The configuration program (start screen) of the repeater is shown once you have successfully logged on. All WLANs found by the repeater are shown in the table. Select your WLAN and then click Next to continue. If your WLAN has not been found, first click on Refresh. This causes the repeater to search again for WLANs.

To change the password, enter “hama” (without the “”) in the box labelled “Current Password”. Enter your new password twice, once in the “New Password” box and once in the “ReEnter Password” box, making sure they are identical. Click Next to continue. If you receive an error message, the new entries are not identical.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater In the next step, you will specify the time zone and the time server that your repeater will use. With this option, your repeater is supplied with the exact time by a selected time server; it is important for the WLAN timer option. You can change the time zone for your current location using the Time zone drop-down menu. It is set to GMT + 00.00 Greenwich Mean Time by default.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7. Explanation of Special Options Requirements: The Hama WLAN repeater should already be fully configured and successfully connected to your WLAN router. The following options are not all necessary for operating the repeater; they should be considered optional. Note that some of these options require advanced knowledge about network technology and should therefore only be changed by experts.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater The WPS option is always activated by default. You can deactivate WPS by removing the check from the Enable WPS checkbox. Once the repeater is restarted, linking is not possible using the hardware button or the configuration program until this option is enabled again. If you wish to start WPS from the configuration program, ensure that Enable WPS is checked and the configuration mode is set to Registrar. Then click Start PBC.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.2.1 Access control function: The Access control option contains the settings required for setting up a MAC address filter. This filter allows you to explicitly define which WLAN devices may and may not use the repeater. If, for security reasons, you wish to define which WLAN devices may log onto the repeater and thus onto your network, you must have detailed knowledge of MAC addresses.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Note ►► Note that you must restart the repeater at least once in order for altered settings to be applied. You can now restart the repeater or make further settings. • If you wish to restart the repeater, click Apply. • To make additional settings, click Continue. 7.2.2 WLAN settings function: The WLAN settings option contains the settings for the integrated WLAN module.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Note – SSID ►► All WLAN devices on which the old SSID is still saved will attempt to log directly onto your router instead of the repeater, since the router has the old SSID. You must therefore provide the new SSID to all devices that are to use the WLAN. ►► Please also note that older WLAN devices may not recognize SSIDs with special characters or German umlauts. You should therefore avoid using these characters. The remaining settings are only intended for expert users.

If you have left the default settings unchanged, the current password is hama. • Enter the new password twice, in both the New password box and Re-enter password box, ensuring that the entries are identical. Then click Apply. • Save the settings, click Apply. All settings will otherwise be lost. The next window confirms that the settings have been saved.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.2.6 Time zone function: The Time zone option allows you to change the time zone according to your current location. It is set to GMT + 00.00 Greenwich Mean Time by default. If you are using the device in Germany, for example, you should set the time zone to GMT + 01:00 Amsterdam, Berlin. On the Time server address input screen, you can specify an NTP (Network Time Protocol) server by entering either the IP address or the domain name.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.2.7 WLAN timer function: The WLAN timer function allows you to set when the repeater switches its WLAN module on and off. Note – Requirements: ►► In order to use this function, you must have previously set the correct time zone and set up a functioning time server. (See section 7.2.6 “Time zone”.) • Activate the WLAN timer by placing a check in the Enable WLAN timer checkbox. • Select the desired day of the week and the time.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Note – Timer rule example ►► You want the repeater to switch the WLAN on at 8:00 AM on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and switch it off at 8:00 PM on these days. ►► Switch-on rule: • S elect the days Monday, Tuesday and Thursday by clicking on the corresponding boxes so that a check appears. • For the time, enter 08 for the hour and 00 for the minutes. • Ensure that you have selected the WLAN on command. • Then click on Add.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.3 Status option The Status option displays the current settings of the repeater as well as helpful information. Examples: Firmware version: Displays the installed firmware version. (Hama offers online firmware updates that correct errors not known at the time of manufacture or that offer additional functions.) ESSID: Displays the WLAN ID currently used by the repeater. Channel: Displays the WLAN channel currently used.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Show active clients button: This table provides information about the current state of the particular WLAN device. The following information is relevant to the current situation: MAC address: Displays the MAC address of the registered WLAN device. Mode: Displays the WLAN mode currently in use (11N, 11G or 11B). Tx speed: Displays the current speed of the WLAN device that is registered on the repeater. You can click the Refresh button to refresh the screen.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.4.1 System settings function: The system settings contain the options already mentioned in these instructions for backing up the current settings or for restoring a functioning configuration in case any of the changes made have impaired the functioning of the repeater. In special cases and if a functional configuration was not backed up, the repeater can be reset to the factory settings.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.4.2 Update firmware function: Hama offers online firmware updates that correct errors not known at the time of manufacture or that offer additional functions. You can find these updates at www.hama.com on the particular product page under the Downloads tab. If you encounter an error, do not hesitate to contact our Support department (see section 10 Service and Support). The Support department will attempt to find a solution as quickly as possible.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.4.3 Reset function & Restore factory settings function: The “Reset repeater” function allows you to restart the repeater without deleting the current settings. The “Restore factory settings” function allows you to reset the repeater to the default state if the repeater is not responding as required. Reset repeater: If, at some point, the repeater ceases to function as required, you can reset the device without losing the current settings by clicking Apply.

Datentransferrate: Die Verbindung zu Ihrem WLAN-Router ist stabil und die zur Verfügung stehende Datentransferrate über WLAN/WiFi kann erreicht werden. ►► Gute Datentransferrate: Die Verbindung zu Ihrem WLAN-Router ist nicht optimal aber immer noch ausreichend, die max. zur Verfügung stehende Datentransferrate kann nicht immer erreicht werden. ►► Ausreichende Datentransferrate: Die Verbindung zu Ihrem WLAN-Router ist gerade so möglich.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater WPS Taste (6) Diese Taste kann sowohl für die Verbindung/Kopplung des Repeaters mit Ihrem WLAN-Routers mittels WPS benutzt werden, als auch zum Zurücksetzen des Repeaters auf dessen Werkszustand, falls eine Fehlfunktion vorliegen sollte. Für die Verbindung/Kopplung per WPS lesen Sie bitte im Abschnitt Inbetriebnahme per WPS nach.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater • W arten Sie nun für ca. 3 Minuten bis die Verbindung zwischen dem WLAN-Router und Repeater aufgebaut ist. • Die Verbindung wurde erfolgreich aufgebaut, wenn die WPS LED (4) am Repeater erlischt und dafür die grüne Signal LED (1) am Repeater aufleuchtet/blinkt. • Platzieren Sie nun den Hama Repeater an den von Ihnen vorgesehen Platz. Zur Überprüfung der Signalstärke vgl. Sie das Kapitel Hinweis zur Signalstärke.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Hinweis – Schreibschutz ►► Der WLAN Repeater ist per Werkszustand so eingerichtet, dass Sie problemlos bei einer „Standard Installation“ von Windows oder Mac OS X bzw. Linux auf den Repeater zugreifen können. Bei speziell angepassten Installationen kann es zu Problemen mit der Inbetriebnahme per Browser kommen. ►► Sollte der Zugriff auf den WLAN Repeater mittels Hama.repeater oder der Eingabe von 192.168.2.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Es werden Ihnen alle durch den Repeater gefundenen WLAN-Netzwerke in der Tabelle angezeigt. Wählen Sie jetzt Ihr WLAN-Netzwerk aus und klicken anschließend auf die Schaltfläche Weiter, um fortzufahren. Sollten Ihr WLAN-Netzwerk nicht gefunden werden, klicken Sie zuerst auf die Schaltfläche Aktualisieren. Dies veranlasst den Repeater nochmals nach WLAN-Netzwerken zu suchen.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Sollte Ihre Eingabe falsch sein, werden Sie aufgefordert den eingegebenen Schlüssel zu prüfen und zu korrigieren. Geben Sie dann den korrigierten Schlüssel erneut ein, um diesen überprüfen zu lassen. Sollte trotz mehrmaligen Korrigierens des Schlüssels dieser von dem Repeater nicht akzeptiert werden, empfehlen wir Ihnen an ihrem Router einen neuen WLAN-Schlüssel einzustellen, der keine Sonderzeichen und Umlaute enthält. WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Wollen Sie das Standardpasswort trotzdem beibehalten, bekommen Sie diesen Sicherheitshinweis durch das System angezeigt. Falls Sie das Standardpasswort jetzt ändern möchten, klicken Sie auf Abbrechen. Wenn Sie das Passwort trotzdem beibehalten wollen, klicken Sie auf OK. Beim nächsten Schritt bestimmen Sie die Zeitzone und einen Zeitserver, den Ihr Repeater verwenden soll.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7. Erklärung spezieller Optionen Voraussetzung: Der Hama WLAN Repeater sollte bereits fertig konfiguriert und sich erfolgreich mit Ihrem WLANRouter verbunden haben. Die nachfolgenden Optionen sind nicht alle zwingend für den Repeater Betrieb erforderlich, sondern als optional anzusehen. Beachten Sie, dass einige dieser Optionen fortgeschrittene Kenntnisse im Bereich Netzwerktechnik voraussetzen und daher nur von Fachleuten geändert werden sollten.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Standardmäßig ist die Option WPS immer aktiviert. Sie können WPS deaktivieren, indem Sie in der Checkbox WPS aktivieren das Häkchen entfernen. Nach dem Neustart des Repeaters ist die Kopplung weder per Hardware-Knopf noch per Konfigurationsprogramm möglich, bis die Option wieder aktiviert wird. Wenn Sie WPS im Konfigurationsprogramm starten möchten, stellen Sie sicher, dass das Häkchen bei WPS aktivieren gesetzt und der Konfigurationsmodus auf Registrar gesetzt ist.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.2.1 Funktion Zugangskontrolle: Hinter der Option Zugangskontrolle befinden sich die Einstellungen, die für das Einrichten einer MAC Adressfilterung benötigt werden. Mithilfe dieser Filterung können Sie explizit festlegen, welche WLAN Geräte den Repeater benutzen dürfen oder nicht. Wollen Sie aus Sicherheitsgründen festlegen, welche WLAN Geräte sich an dem Repeater und damit an Ihr Netzwerk anmelden dürfen, müssen Sie über detaillierte Kenntnisse über MAC Adressen verfügen.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Hinweis ►► Beachten Sie, dass Sie den Repeater zumindest einmal neu starten müssen, damit veränderte Einstellungen aktiv übernommen werden. Sie können nun den Repeater neu starten oder weitere Einstellungen vorzunehmen. • Wenn Sie den Repeater neu starten möchten, klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Anwenden. • Um weitere Einstellungen vorzunehmen, klicken Sie auf Fortsetzen. 7.2.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Hinweis – SSID ►► Alle WLAN Geräte, die noch die alte SSID gespeichert haben, werden versuchen statt dem Repeater sich direkt an Ihrem Router anzumelden, da dessen SSID ja noch der alten entspricht. Sie müssen also alle Geräte die das WLAN benutzen wollen, mit der neuen SSID bekannt machen. ►► Beachten Sie auch, dass evtl. ältere WLAN Geräte keine SSID mit Umlauten oder Sonderzeichen korrekt verstehen. Vermeiden Sie daher solche Zeichen.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Klicken Sie zum Speichern der vorgenommenen Einstellungen auf die Schaltfläche Anwenden. Die Einstellungen gehen sonst verloren. Im nächsten Fenster werden Ihnen die getätigten Einstellungen als gespeichert bestätigt. Hinweis ►► Beachten Sie, dass Sie den Repeater zumindest einmal neu starten müssen, damit veränderte Einstellungen aktiv übernommen werden. Sie können nun den Repeater neu starten oder weitere Einstellungen vorzunehmen.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater • Z ur Änderung des Passworts geben Sie in das Eingabefeld mit der Bezeichnung derzeitiges Passwort das aktuelle Passwort ein. Falls Sie die Standardeinstellungen belassen haben, ist das aktuelle Passwort hama. • In den beiden Eingabefeldern mit der Bezeichnung Neues Passwort sowie Passwort bestätigen geben Sie jeweils Ihr neues Passwort identisch ein. Klicken Sie anschließend auf die Schaltfläche Anwenden.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Hinweis ►► Beachten Sie, dass Sie den Repeater zumindest einmal neu starten müssen, damit veränderte Einstellungen aktiv übernommen werden. WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Sie können nun den Repeater neu starten oder weitere Einstellungen vorzunehmen. • Wenn Sie den Repeater neu starten möchten, klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Anwenden. • Um weitere Einstellungen vorzunehmen, klicken Sie auf Fortsetzen. 7.2.7 Funktion WLAN-Zeitsteuerung: Mit der Funktion WLAN-Zeitsteuerung können Sie einstellen, wann der Repeater sein WLANModul ein bzw. ausschaltet.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Hinweis – Zeitschaltregel - Beispiel ►► Der Repeater soll an den Tagen am Montag, Dienstag und Donnerstag, um 08.00 Uhr, WLAN einschalten und um 20.00 an diesen Tagen ausschalten. ►► Einschaltregel: • M arkieren Sie die Wochentage Montag, Dienstag und Donnerstag indem Sie die dazugehörigen Felder anklicken und einen Haken setzen. • Geben Sie als Zeitpunkt 08 bei Stunde und 00 bei Minute ein. • Stellen Sie sicher, dass der Befehl WLAN ein eingestellt ist.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.3 Option Status: Die Option Status zeigt Ihnen die aktuellen Einstellungen des Repeaters und hilfreiche Information an. Beispiele: Firmware-Version: Zeigt die installierte Firmwareversion an. (Hama bietet online Firmware-Updates an, die Fehler korrigieren, die zum Zeitpunkt der Herstellung nicht bekannt waren, oder die erweiterte Funktionen bieten.) ESSID: Zeigt die derzeit verwendete WLAN-Kennung des Repeaters an. Kanal: Zeigt den derzeit verwendeten WLAN-Kanal an.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater Schaltfläche Zeige aktive Clients an: Diese Tabelle gibt Auskunft über den aktuellen Zustand des jeweiligen WLAN Geräts. Interessant sind in diesem Zusammenhang die Infos: Mac-Adresse: Zeigt die MAC- Adresse des angemeldeten WLAN-Gerätes an Modus: Hier wird der verwendete WLAN Modus (11N, 11G oder 11B) angezeigt. Tx Geschwindigkeit: Zeigt die aktuelle Geschwindigkeit des WLAN Geräts an, das an dem Repeater angemeldet ist.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.4.1 Funktion Systemeinstellungen: In den Systemeinstellungen finden Sie die schon in dieser Anleitung angesprochenen Möglichkeiten, die aktuellen Einstellungen zu sichern bzw. eine funktionierende Konfiguration bei Bedarf wiederherzustellen, wenn vorgenommene Veränderungen die Funktion des Repeaters beeinträchtigen. In besonderen Fällen und falls keine funktionierende Konfiguration abgespeichert wurde, kann der Repeater auf die Werkseinstellungen zurückgesetzt werden.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.4.2 Funktion Firmware aktualisieren: Hama bietet online Firmware-Updates an, die Fehler korrigieren, die zum Zeitpunkt der Herstellung nicht bekannt waren, oder die erweiterte Funktionen bieten. Sie finden diese Updates auf www.hama.com auf der Artikelseite unter dem Reiter Downloads. Sollte Ihnen ein Fehler auffallen, informieren Sie gerne unseren Support (Siehe Kapitel 10. Service und Support)! Dieser wird versuchen zeitnah eine Korrektur anzubieten.
WLAN 300 Mbps Repeater 7.4.3 Funktion Zurücksetzen & auf Werkszustand zurücksetzen: Mit der Funktion „Repeater Zurücksetzen“ können Sie den Repeater neu starten, ohne dass die aktuellen Einstellungen gelöscht werden.
