This fully programmable Plug and Play product opens the door to virtually limitless performance modification and tuning of your vehicle. Programmable systems allow you to extract all the performance from your engine by delivering precisely the required amount of fuel and ignition timing that your engine requires for maximum output under all operating conditions.
Patch Harness Overview The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R is designed as a plug and play solution for the Nissan R35 GT-R. It allows the user to have control of the engine quickly and easily by using the supplied patch harness. The patch harness is the way the Haltech Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU interfaces with the standard Nissan ECU. Please Note: The ECU patch harness is designed for the supported vehicles only.
The Haltech CAN Network The Haltech CAN network allows for simple and effective expansion in ECU capability and functionality without having to go to the trouble of wiring in a whole new computer. Expansion is made possible by the addition of multiple expansion devices that communicate to the main ECU via a Control Area Network (CAN).
Wideband O2 Inputs ECU Manager Help The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU does not use the factory O2 sensors. For closed loop O2 control the user must install a wideband O2 kit which can be purchased from Haltech.
ECU Manager Software The CAN Intercept Connectors ECU Manager software is used for setup, calibration and diagnostics and can be found on the CD supplied with this unit or downloaded from the Haltech website www.haltech.com The Platinum Pro R35 GT-R ECU is capable of communicating with the vehicles on board CAN Bus. These connectors are used for Haltech development only.
Ecu Installation: 8. To install your new Platinum R35 GT-R ECU into your Nissan R35 GT-R please follow the procedures below. *Please note the following installation photos are based on a Nissan R35 GT-R Australian Delivered Model • • • Once the units are secure re-assemble the vehicle. Start by refitting the glove compartment inner cover. Feed the USB cable though the cover if you want the USB cable to reside in the glove compartment, alternatively the cable can be bundled and left in the kick panel.
7. Remount the Factory ECU with Harness Connected Remove the factory ECU from the mounting bracket. This installation requires the factory mounting bracket to be removed and not reinstalled. Connect the Patch Harness to the Factory Harness using the 3 header connectors which were disconnected from the Factory ECU Previously. Connect the Factory ECU to the Patch Harness using the 3 connectors contained within the harness.
4. Remove the passenger side kick panel and skirt. Remove the skirt first by gently lifting it up. This skirt is only held in by clips. Remove the kick panel by removing the plastic nut on the firewall securing it in place, once undone the kick panel can be removed. 6. Remove the factory ECU You should now be able to see the factory ECU. To remove it disconnect the 3 header plugs connected to it. Proceed to undo the 2 x M10 bolts securing the factory mounting bracket in place.
