CHAPTER 12 SOFTWAR E SETTINGS
12.1 The Program Set-up window
The Set-up window allows you to change the way the software works for you. If you alter any
of the p arameters on this page, the p rogrammin g software will remember the chan ges y ou
have made and they become the default settings. The next time you run the Haltech program,
the settings will be as y ou left them.
To access the Program Set-up window press Alt – S to open the Set-up menu then scroll to the
Program Set-up menu item and press enter. This opens the Program Set-up window.
12.1.1 The Display
The Haltech programmin g software has been written to suit a grap hical CGA, VGA or EGA
monitor. In most cases, the p rogrammin g software will detect what sort of disp lay y ou have
and select the ap p rop riate mode.
You can also choose to operate in colour or monochrome. Since many laptop computers are
not in colour, the monochrome setting should provide better contrast to read the screen.
12.1.2 Com Port
The programmin g software can communicate with the Haltech ECU through either COM 1 or
COM2. Select the com port you are using here.
12.2 Data Display Settings
To access the Data p age Set-up window press Alt – O to open the Options menu then scroll to
the Data page Set-up menu item and press enter. This opens the Program Set-up window.
The data page window will allow y ou to select the data which you wish to view in the data
windows at the base of the maps and in the engine data page. This is particularly useful when
using the CGA video mode as the size of the map is reduced to allow all the engine data to be
viewed. By reducing the number of data parameters the size of the map is increased letting
small changes in bars more visible.
