The Walktax
The Walktax Thread Meter is a durable and proven
reliable distance measuring instrument. The Walktax
has a high quality counter that gives accurate
readings and lasts for many measuring seasons.
With its practical design, precision results and
rugged exterior, the Walktax meter is useful in many
different work elds such as forestry, construction,
survey and gardening.
The Walktax Thread Meter housing is made from strong
polycarbonate plastic, drop and shock resistant and with
a see-through window for result readings. It has an exterior thread-cutter and zero-set button. The measuring thread is
made from biodegradable, 100% cotton and each spool contains 80g/2.8oz (approx.2700m/yds) of thread. The counter
accuracy is approx. 0.5 % and results are featured in metric or feet (depending on specied measuring unit on order). The
increased distance is shown foot-by-foot, or decimeter-by decimetre. Zero setting is made on the top of the measuring
box, without having to open the Walktax box.
With the belt clip, the Walktax can be fastened to the belt. A special attachment for the Walktax in the Haglöf Cruising
Belt is also available. To measure, wrap the thread a minimum of four times around the measuring wheel and tie to the
starting point. Zero-set the counter. With the Walktax secured in the belt clip, walk to the goal/ending point. Read
the distance from start to end in the viewing window. The measuring thread is strong to withstand the strain but will
decompose in approximately one to three seasons, depending on weather, terrain and climate.

Wrap the thread four (4 ) times around the
measuring wheel, tie the end of the thread by the
starting point, reset the counter and start walking!
