2. Safety instructions
•ThepanelmeterwastestedaccordingtoEMW(CEtested)andcomplieswiththe
regulation89/336/EWG
•Thisdevicehaslefttheplantinaawlessandsafecondition.Tomaintainthiscon-
dition, the user must consider the notes and warning notices without fail included in
this manual.
•Thismeasuringcomponentmustnotbeusedininstallationsofover-voltagecategory
accordingtoIEC664.Themeasuringcomponentisnotprotectedagainstelectricarc
explosions((IEC1010-2-031,paragraph13.101).
•Measuringdevicesmustbekeptawayfromchildren!
•Incommercialfacilitiesregulationsforthepreventionofaccidentsoftheassociation
ofcommercialandindustrialworkers‘compensationinsurancecarriersforelectric
equipment and machinery materials must be considered.
•Inschools,trainingfacilities,hobbyandselfhelpshopstheoperationofthemeasu-
ring device must be supervised responsibly by trained staff
•Whenopeningcoveringsorremovingparts,unlessthisispossiblebyhand,liveparts
mightbeexposed.Theremightbeconnectingpointsthatarestilllive.Beforean
alignment, maintenance, repair or an exchange of parts or components, the device
must be separated from the power supply units and measuring circuits, if the opening
of the device is required. If an adjustment, maintenance or repair of an energised
openeddeviceisunavoidable,thismayonlybecarriedoutbyaqualiedpersonwho
is familiar with the related danger and the respective regulations.
•Condensersinthedevicecanstillbechargedeventhoughthedevicehasbeen
disconnected from all power supply units and measuring circuits.
•Beespeciallycarefulwhenhandlingcurrentsbiggerthan35Vdirectcurrentvoltage
(DC).
At these high currents when touching an electric conductor you can get a life-threa-
teningcurrentshock.Switchoffthepowersupplyunitrst,linkthemeasuringdevice
with the connections of the power supply unit and measuring circuit to be connected
andthenswitchonthepowersupplyunit.Afternishingthemeasurements,switch
the power supply unit off and remove the measuring lines from the connections of the
voltage or current supply source.
•Beforechangingthemeasuringrangetheprobetipsormeasuringlinesofthemeasu-
ring object must be removed.
•Checkbeforeeachmeasurementthemeasuringdeviceormeasuringlinesforerrors.
•Donotworkwiththemeasuringdeviceinspacesorunfavourableambientconditions
thatcontainormaycontaininammablegases,vapoursordust.
For your own safety, prevent the measuring device or measuring lines from getting
humid or wet.
