Safety Guidelines 
General 
Guideline 
 CAUTION 
  Do not place any heavy object on the 
instrument. 
  Avoid severe impact or rough handling that 
leads to damaging the instrument. 
  Do not discharge static electricity to the 
instrument. 
  Use only mating connectors, not bare wires, for 
the terminals. 
  Do not block the cooling fan opening. 
  Do not disassemble the instrument unless you 
are qualified. 
  Do not use sharp objects or press with undue 
force on the touch screen display.  
  Do not apply more than 300Vrms (CAT II, DSO 
inputs); 600V (CAT II, DMM inputs) or 300V 
(CAT III, DMM inputs). 
(Measurement categories) EN61010-1:2010, EN61010-2-030 and 
EN61010-2-033 specify the measurement categories and their 
requirements as follows. The GDS-200/300 falls under category II & 
III. 
  Measurement category IV is for measurement performed at the 
source of low-voltage installation. 
  Measurement category III is for measurement performed in the 
building installation. 
  Measurement category II is for measurement performed on the 
circuits directly connected to the low voltage installation. 
  Measurement category 0 is for measurements performed on 
circuits not directly connected to Mains.
