Assembly Instructions

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
MODEL 9301818 Tahoe (14x9 Family Tent)
IMPORTANT: WE ADVISE YOU TO ASSEMBLE THE TENT ONCE BEFORE
GOING CAMPING TO BECOME FAMILIAR WITH THE ASSEMBLY OF THE
TENT. NOTE: PLEASE LOOK AT THE REPLACEMENT PARTS DIAGRAM TO SEE
HOW YOUR FRAME IS ASSEMBLED.
TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE TENT FLOOR, SELECT A LEVEL, CLEAN AREA
FOR THE CAMPSITE. TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE ZIPPER, UNZIP THE DOOR
TO ALLOW AIR TO ENTER THE TENT.
TO IMPROVE THE WEATHER RESISTANCE OF YOUR TENT, IT IS ADVISABLE TO
USE SEAM SEALER TO COAT ALL EXPOSED SEAMS. YOU SHOULD APPLY
ONLY TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE FLY AND INSIDE SEAMS OF THE TENT.
IF APPLIED TO THE OUTSIDE OF SEAMS, DISCOLORATION OF YOUR TENT
MAY OCCUR. SEAM SEALER IS AVAILABLE IN THE CAMPING SECTION OF
ANY LOCAL SPORTING GOODS STORE.
Tent should
appear as
shown.
STEP 11: For extra stability, there are guy ropes attached to
the fly above each side window. Extend the guy ropes
and make a loop at the opposite end of the guy rope by
using plastic slider, as shown, and place loop over tent
stake. Adjust slider to make guy rope tight and stake to
ground. We suggest using plastic stakes to stake out the
guy ropes.
Tent should
appear as
shown.
There is a divider curtain included with your tent to separate the tent into two rooms.
Attach to the tent ceiling and walls with the toggles. There are also interior
convenience pockets to store small items up off the floor, yet within easy reach.
NOTE: To take down tent, follow steps above in the reverse order. Be sure to
leave door and windows unzipped. Place stakes into stake bag and poles
into pole bag, which are provided. Stretch out the fly, so that it extends over the
roof of the tent. Fold tent into equal parts toward the center of the tent to distribute
the bulk. Place frame on folded tent and start a small tight roll, the width of your
carry bag. Roll tent toward door to allow air to escape. Once rolled, tie a string
or rope around tent to hold into place. Place tent and stake bag into storage bag.
Make sure tent is clean and dry before storing.
STEP 1: Spread tent out flat, floor side down. Unzip door.
STEP 2: Stake the tent to the ground by inserting tent stakes through the stake loops
at the base of the tent. Use the plastic stakes on the four tent corners
and the metal stakes with the stake loops sewn to the molded fast
feet. Hammer stakes into the ground at a 45° angle to the tent,
making sure the tent floor is pulled out even and tight.
STEP 3: Extend each of the fiberglass frame poles by pulling out each section and
placing pole ends into the metal ferrules connectors. You will have five fiberglass
poles (Refer to the frame drawing on the opposite side of these assembly instructions).
The two longest poles with metal end ferrules (A) are the main tent poles.
The next longest poles, also with metal end ferrules (B) are the side tent poles.
The remaining fiberglass pole, which is the shortest pole (C) is the fly pole.
STEP 4: Insert the two longest tent poles (A) through the two sleeves at the center
of your tent. Position tent poles so that equal lengths extend on each side of the
pole sleeves.
STEP 5: Insert the two side poles through the
remaining sleeves on each side of the tent.
Position poles so that equal pole lengths
extend on each side of the pole sleeve.
STEP 6: One adult should now enter the tent door and carefully lift
the tent roof and frame poles up off of the ground. The other
adult should go to the rear of the tent and place the ferrules at
the tent pole ends into the fast feet at the base of the tent. The
tent poles should follow the vertical seam lines of the tent.
STEP 7: Continue to raise the tent by flexing the tent poles into an arch and placing
the free ends of the tent poles into the fast feet on the front side of the tent.
STEP 8: Unfold fly and place over tent so the fly pole sleeve is located over the door.
Attach the fly to the tent by hooking the S-hooks located at each of the fly corners
to the hooks on fly to the loops on the corresponding pole sleeves.
WARNING: Elastic cords can snap back and hit your eye.
To reduce the risk of injury to you and others:
• Keep your body and face clear.
• Do not over stretch elastic cords.
• Maintain firm grip on hook.
• Pull the hook toward you; if it slips it will spring away from you.
• Make sure hook is fully clipped to tent before releasing.
• Wear protective eyewear during tent assembly.
Your failure to follow this warning could cause serious
injury or permanent disability.
STEP 9: Insert the fly pole (C) in to the sleeve found at the edge of the rain fly over
the door. Carefully flex the fly pole and insert each end into the reinforced metal
grommets located on either side of the tent door.
STEP 10: Fasten the Velcro fasteners sewn to the edge of the
fly around the fiberglass tent poles.
