General Safety Instructions
Prior to the initial use of the unit, the operating instructions should be read completely. If in doubt with regard to connection and
operation of the unit, consult the manufacturer (servicing department).
FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW CAREFULLY IN ORDER TO SECURE A HIGH DEGREE OF SAFETY:
CAUTION!
Always connect to the mains with a stray current protection switch!
1. Always hold hands and feet put of the area of mowing, particularly when staring the machine up. Hold the hand ready on the
additional handle.
2. Always hold the machine at a safe distance from the body and stand stable.
3. Always use a protection shield.
4. Use the machine in daylight or in good artificial lighting if possible.
5. Do not use the machine in rain on or the wet grass.
6. Check the machine for damages before use or after a stroke to see if it is not damaged. Repair/have it repaired if it is.
7. Do not use the machine if protective devices are damaged or improperly fitted.
8. Make sure that ventilation slits are free of any dirt and remnants.
In the course of work, make sure that no people and animals are at a range of 3 m. Switch off the machine immediately if
anybody, children in particularly, get within the machine reach.
10. Do not come nearer to the moving parts n (mowing mechanism) of the running machine.
11. Before use of the machine, remove any stone, branches and other solid obstacles from the lawn to be mown.
12. Be very careful when extending the mowing string. After it is extended, take a safe working position again before the machine is
switched on.
13. Do not use metal string reels. Remember that the machines runs another five seconds after tripping the switch.
Emergency Action
Apply the first aid adequate to the injury and get qualified medical assistance as quickly as possible. Protect the injured person from
more accidents and calm him/her down.
