Prior to installation, plan your system:
1. All equipment to be used in combination with the Single Stanchion must be selected and deemed
compatible by a Competent Person.
2. Ensure work surface on which Single Stanchion System is to be installed is free of all damage, including, but
not limited to, rot, rust, cracking, sharp or abrasive edges and surfaces, and hazardous materials.
3. Ensure all fall hazards will be surrounded on all sides by a Fall Prevention system, such as a Single
Stanchion warning line system. If unobstructed fall hazards are present, a separate PFAS must be used
together with (but never attached to) the Fall Prevention system.
4. Completely plan the layout of the Single Stanchion warning line system.
• Single Stanchions must be placed a MINIMUM 6’ from the leading edge of all fall hazards.
• When mechanical equipment is in use, Single Stanchions must be placed a MINIMUM 6’ from the
leading edge parallel to the direction of the mechanical equipment, and 10’ from the leading edge
perpendicular to the direction of the mechanical equipment.
• Single Stanchions may be placed a MAXIMUM 50’.
• Warning Line MUST be rigged so its lowest point is not below 34” and its highest point is not
above 39”.
• Warning flags MUST be installed on Warning Line no more than 6’ apart.
Installation:
1. Twist open Single Stanchion legs.
2. Lift up stem until vertical.
3. Lock into place with provided pin.
4. Place all Single Stanchions at selected
installation locations.
5. Run Warning Line between Single
Stanchion by pulling up on Warning
Line Connection Point, wrapping line
around prongs, and then releasing.
