Prior to installation, plan your system:
1. All equipment to be used in combination with the Permanent Warning Line Stanchion must
be selected and deemed compatible by a Competent Person.
2. Ensure work surface on which Permanent Warning Line Stanchion System is to be installed is
free of all damage, including, but not limited to, rot, rust, cracking, sharp or abrasive edges and
surfaces, and hazardous materials.
3. Ensure all fall hazards will be surrounded on all sides by a Fall Prevention system, such as a
Permanent Warning Line Stanchion System. If unobstructed fall hazards are present, a separate
PFAS must be used together with (but never attached to) the Fall Prevention system.
4. Completely plan the layout of the Permanent Warning Line System.
• Permanent Warning Line Stanchions must be placed a MINIMUM 6’ from the leading
edge of all fall hazards.
• When mechanical equipment is in use, Permanent Warning Line Stanchions must be
placed a MINIMUM 6’ from the leading edge parallel to the direction of the mechanical
equipment, and 10’ from the leading edge perpendicular to the direction of the
mechanical equipment.
• Permanent Warning Line Stanchions may be placed a MAXIMUM 20’ apart.
• Warning Line MUST be rigged so its lowest point is not below 34” and its highest point
is not above 39”.
• Warning flags MUST be installed on Warning Line no more than 6’ apart.
Installation:
1. Place all baseplates at selected Permanent Warning Line Stanchion installation locations.
2. Place all Permanent Warning Line Stanchions into baseplate installation locations. Tighten all
baseplate screws until snug.
3. At first system termination point, connect thimble end of Warning Line to Warning Line
Connection Point.
4. Run Warning Line to next Permanent Warning Line Stanchion,
and wrap around each hook of Warning Line Connection Point.
5. At last system termination point, connect thimble end of
Warning Line to Warning Line Connection Point.
