The8051CPUcoreisasingle-cycle8051-compatiblecore.Ithasthreedifferentmemory
accessbusses(SFR,DATA,andCODE/XDATA),adebuginterface,andan18-input
extendedinterruptunit。

Peripherals
：
Aversatilefive-channelDMAcontrollerisavailableinthesystem,accessesmemoryusing
theXDATAmemoryspace,andthushasaccesstoallphysicalmemories.Eachchannel
(trigger,priority,transfermode,addressingmode,sourceanddestinationpointers,and
transfercount)isconfiguredwithDMAdescriptorsthatcanbelocatedanywhereinmemory.
Manyofthehardwareperipherals(AEScore,flashcontroller,USARTs,timers,ADC
interface,etc.)canbeusedwiththeDMAcontrollerforefficientoperationbyperforming
datatransfersbetweenasingleSFRorXREGaddressandflash/SRAM.
Thedebuginterfaceimplementsaproprietarytwo-wireserialinterfacethatisusedfor
in-circuitdebugging.Throughthisdebuginterface,itispossibletoeraseorprogramthe
entireflashmemory,controlwhichoscillatorsareenabled,stopandstartexecutionofthe
userprogram,executeinstructionsonthe8051core,setcodebreakpoints,andsingle-step
throughinstructionsinthecode.Usingthesetechniques,itispossibletoperformin-circuit
debuggingandexternalflashprogrammingelegantly.
USART0andUSART1areeachconfigurableaseitheranSPImaster/slaveoraUART.
TheyprovidedoublebufferingonbothRXandTXandhardwareflowcontrolandarethus
wellsuitedtohigh-throughputfull-duplexapplications.EachUSARThasitsown
high-precisionbaud-rategenerator,thusleavingtheordinarytimersfreeforotheruses.
WhenconfiguredasSPIslaves,theUSARTssampletheinputsignalusingSCKdirectly
insteadofusingsomeoversamplingscheme,andarethuswell-suitedforhighdatarates。
Theinterruptcontrollerservicesatotalof18interruptsources,dividedintosixinterrupt
groups,eachofwhichisassociatedwithoneoffourinterruptpriorities.I/Oandsleeptimer
interruptrequestsareservicedevenifthedeviceisinasleepmode(powermodes1and2)
bybringingtheAW2540backtotheactivemode。
