Preparation of the Gate
The gate must be plumb, level, and swing freely
on its hinges. Wheels must not be attached to
the gate. The gate must move throughout its arc
without binding or dragging on the ground.
Note that gates over 250 lb.. should have ball
bearing hinges with grease fittings.
The fence post should be no larger than 6" in
diameter and must be secured in the ground

when the opener is activated. We recommend
you position the opener near the centerline
of the gate to keep the gate from twisting and

The addition of a horizontal or vertical cross
member (if one is not already in place) to provide
a stable area for mounting the gate bracket is
also important.

driveway in order to lay conduit for

The diagrams shown below are examples of an installation on a chain link fence.
IMPORTANT: You need to determine which side of the driveway you will mount the control
box. From this point on the gate and gate opener on the same side as the control box will be
referred to as the FIRST gate and gate opener. The gate and gate opener on the opposite side of
the driveway from the control box will be referred to as the SECOND gate and gate opener.
