Safety Characteristics
The EDGE GSF is Safety Class I according to IEC classification and has been designed to meet the
requirements of UL 61010-1 third edition, CAN/CSA-C22.2 61010-1 third edition, EN 61010-1: 2010
(Safety Requirements for Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control and Laboratory Use). It is an
Installation Category II intended for operation from a normal single phase or two phase(s) supply accord-
ing to the power cord.
The EDGE GSF has been tested in accordance with IEC61010-1 and has been supplied in a safe condi-
tion. This instruction manual contains some information and warnings which have to be followed by the
user to ensure safe operation and to retain the instrument in a safe condition.
These Safety EU directives were followed:
2014/35/EU The Low Voltage Directive (LVD)
2014/30/EU The Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive (EMC)
EMC characteristics - Emissions Standards
The EDGE GSF has been designed to meet the requirements of the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, FCC
directives, Industry Canada directives. The compliance was demonstrated by meeting the test limits of
the following standards:
EN 61000-6-4 (2019) : Emission tests levels for industrial environment
EN61326-1 (2013) : EMC product standard for Electrical Equipment for Measurement, Control and
Laboratory Use
IEC EN 60730-1 (2016): Automatic electrical controls for household and similar use - Part 1: General
requirements - EMC requirements
