Preparation
Inserting / replacing the
batteries
This appliance runs on four 1,5 V batteries,
type AAA/UM4/R03. When the batteries are
expired, “Lo” will appear in the display

. Pro-
ceed as follows to insert or replace the batteries.
1 Open the battery compartment on the bottom
of the appliance by pressing the latch inwards
and removing the battery compartment cover.
2 If necessary, remove the expired batteries first
and dispose of them in an environmentally
friendly way. Place four new 1,5 V batteries,
type AAA into the battery compartment. Pay
attention to the correct polarity as indicated in
the battery compartment.
3 Put the battery compartment cover back
on and close it. Make sure that it clicks into
place.
Operation
Normal Mode
1 Place the appliance on a stable, flat, clean, dry
and non-slip surface.
2 Press ON/OFF/TARA button

to turn the
appliance on.
– Wait for approximately 2 seconds for the
appliance to be ready for operation.

If it is not being used, the appliance turns off
automatically after 2 minutes.
3 The appliance is ready for operation when
“0 g” and “FOOD CODE 000“ are shown in
the display

continuously to change
the measuring unit if necessary (see the “De-
termining the unit of weight” section).
4 Put the food to be weighed on the weighing
surface

– The display

will indicate the weight of
the food in a few seconds.
5 Enter a food code by using the numeric
buttons

. Refer to the “Food code table”
for the food code. If you want to make a
correction, press CLEAR button

.
– The food code and the nutritional values ap-
pear on the bottom of the display

continuously to
change the nutritional values if necessary (see
“Changing the nutritional values” section).
6 To turn the appliance off, hold down the ON/
OFF/TARA button

for 5 seconds.
