settings.
 Automaticconnection,
 alldataregardingtheconnectionsettings(»IP

areobtainedfrommodemautomatically.
 Manualconnection,
 allconnectionsettings(»IPAddress«,»Net-
mask«, »Gateway« and »DNS«) must be
configuredmanually.

MostofthehomenetworksareDynamic.Ifyou
havea dynamic network,you must usea DSL
modem that supports DHCP. Modems and IP
sharers that support DHCP obtain the »DNS«
valuesthatarerequiredfor»IPAddress«,»Net-
mask«, »Gateway« and internet access auto-
matically,andthusyouarenotrequiredtoenter
thosevaluesmanually.

