11. Megging
Megging of an installation incorporating a
GRUNDFOS MAGNA pump is not allowed, as the
built-in electronics may be damaged. If megging of
the pump is necessary, the pump should be
electrically separated from the installation.
Procedure:
Warning
Before removing the cables, the
electricity must be switched off.
Megging of the pump

• Switch off the electricity supply.
• Open the connection box.

• Remove the supply wires L and N and the
earth ground wire (GND).

• Short-circuit the wires L and N using a
wire.
• Test between the wires L/N and earth
ground (GND).
Test voltage: Max. 1000 VAC/1500 VDC.
Maximum permissible leakage current < 35
mA.
Note: Never test between the supply wires
(L and N).

Test the cable to the pump.
• Pull the plug out of the pump and test
again.
• Refit the supply wires L and N and the
earth ground wire (GND).
• Switch on the electricity supply.
