catalog.
•Buyer shallbesolelyresponsiblefordeterminingthe
adequacyof theproduct forany andall usesto which
Buyershallapplytheproduct.TheapplicationbyBuyer
shallnotbesubjecttoanyimpliedwarrantyoffitnessfor
a particular purpose.
•Forsafety,BuyerorUsershouldprovideprotectiveguards
overall shaft extensions andany moving apparatus
mountedthereon.TheUserisresponsibleforcheckingall
applicablesafetycodesinhisareaandprovidingsuitable
guards.Failuretodosomayresultinbodilyinjuryand/or
damagetoequipment.
•Hotoilandreducerscancausesevereburns.Useextreme
carewhenremovinglubricationplugsandvents.
•Makecertainthatthepowersupplyisdisconnectedbefore
attemptingtoserviceorremoveanycomponents.Lock
outthe powersupplyand tagitto preventunexpected
application power.
•Reducersarenottobeconsideredfailsafeorself-locking
devices.Ifthesefeaturesarerequired,aproperlysized,
independentholdingdeviceshouldbeutilized.Reducers
shouldnotbeusedasabrake.
•Anybrakesthatareusedinconjunctionwithareducer
mustbesizedorpositionedinsuchawaysoastonot
subjectthereducertoloadsbeyondthecatalograting.
•Lifting supportsincludingeyebolts are to be used for
verticallyliftingthegearboxonlyandnootherassociated
attachmentsormotors.
•UseofanoilwithanEPadditiveonunitswithbackstops
maypreventproperoperationofthebackstop.Injuryto
personnel,damagetothereducerorotherequipmentmay
result.
•Overhungloadssubjectshaftbearingsandshaftstostress
whichmaycauseprematurebearingfailureandorshaft
breakagefrombendingfatigue,ifnotsizedproperly.
•Testrununit toverifyoperation. Iftheunit testedisa
prototype,thatunitmustbeofcurrentproduction.
•Ifthespeedreducercannotbelocatedin a clear and
dry area with access toadequatecoolingairsupply,
thenprecautionsmustbetakentoavoidtheingestionof
contaminantssuchaswaterandthereductionincooling
abilityduetoexteriorcontaminants.
•Mountingboltsshouldberoutinelycheckedtoensurethat
theunitisfirmlyanchoredforproperoperation.
