Maintenance and
cleaning
There is a risk of serious injury
in case of improper maintenance
and removal of safety devices.
Carry out maintenance and clea-
ning work strictly with the motor
switched off and the equipment
disconnected from the mains.
Risk of injury!
Have repair and maintenance
work not described in these
instructions (e.g. changing the
carbon brushes) carried out by
a specialist workshop. Use only
original Grizzly replacement
parts. Allow the machine to
cool before all maintenance and
cleaning work. There is a risk of
burns!
Wear gloves with cut protection
when handling the saw chain. There
is a risk of injury.
Cleaning
Do not use solvents or petrol for
cleaning. These could damage the
equipment.
• Cleanthesurface,ventilationopenings
and handles of the equipment with a dry
cloth, brush or hand brush.
• Onlydrywipethesawchain.Afterclea-
ning, lightly oil the saw chain with chain
oil.
Apply individual drops of oil to the joints
and the points of the teeth on the indivi-
dual chain links.
Maintenance intervals
Carry out the maintenance work listed in
the table below at regular intervals. Regular
maintenance of your equipment extends
the lifespan of the equipment. You will also
achieve optimum cutting performances and
avoid accidents.
Sharpening the cutting teeth
Leave the resharpening of a saw chain to a
specialist or proceed according to the instruc-
tions for your saw chain sharpener. Resharpe-
ning a saw chain takes practice. If in doubt, it
is preferable to replace the saw chain.
Changing the saw chain

or worn blade.
1. Switch off the equipment and discon-
nect from the mains.
2. Undothebladexingscrew(

take off the chain wheel cover (

3. Take off the old saw chain (

The assembly and tensioning of the new
saw chain are described in the “Assembly”
chapter..
Maintaining the blade
The blade must be turned over every
8 – 10 working hours in order to guarantee
even wear (for this, see the “Initial operati-
on” chapter).
1. Switch off the equipment and discon-
nect from the mains.
2. Take off the chain wheel cover (6), saw
chain (2) and blade (3) (see picture).
