• Carefullyinspecttheareyouareabout
to trim and remove any wires or other
foreign matter.
• Wearsuitableworkingclothessuchas
solid boots with non-slip soles, sturdy
long trousers and gloves (e.g. chrome
leather gloves). Do not wear long
clothing or jewellery because these
might be caught by moving parts. Do
not operate the appliance bare-footed
or when wearing open sandals.
• Weargogglesandaheadguardto
protect yourself against parts darting off.
Wear ear protection.
• Ensureasafestandduringoperation,
especially on stairs or ladders. Avoid
abnormal postures. Always hold the ap-
pliance with both hands. Be particularly
careful when working down a slope.
• Beforeturningontheappliance,check
that it will not touch any objects. Turn
the appliance off before putting it down.
• Donotoperatetheappliancewhenyou
are tired or not concentrating or after
consuming alcohol or tablets. Have
regular breaks. Proceed with a clear
mind.
• Longerperiodsofoperationmaylead
to the vibrations disturb blood circulati-
on through your hands. Wear suitable
gloves and have regular breaks.
• Donotoperatetheapplianceintherain,
in bad weather, in damp environments
or on wet hedges. Make sure the light is
good during operation.
The safety devices and your per-
sonal protection equipment protect
yourself and the health of others
and will ensure that the appliance
is working properly:
• Donotoperateadamagedorincom-
plete appliance or a unit that has been
manipulated without the manufacturer‘s
permission. Do not operate the appli-
ance if the safety devices are defective.
Before operating the appliance, check
that it is safe to use.
• Donotoperatetheapplianceunlessall
handles and safety devices are mounted
properly.
• Beforeoperatingtheappliance,verify
that all parts of the trimming assembly,
e.g. the blade and the screws holding
it, are working properly and are neither
jammed nor damaged nor worn. Work
with a fully functional trimming assembly
only.
• Onlyusesparesandaccessoriesdeliv-
ered and recommended by the manufac-
turer.
• Donotpickuptheappliancebythe
blade bar and do not use the protection
device to hold it.
• Shutdownthemotorwhen
- not using the appliance, transporting it or
leaving it unattended,
- inspecting the appliance or removing
jams,
- cleaning or servicing the appliance or
replacing any accessories,
- you have come into contact with foreign
particles or abnormal vibration occurs.
• Donottrytorepairtheapplianceyourself
unless you are trained and skilled to do
so. Work not described in this instruction
manual must only be done by customer
service centres authorised by us.
• Donotoperatetheappliancenearin-
ammableliquidsorgases.Checkthat
the motor and silencer are free from
deposits, leaves or lubricant at all times.

or storing the appliance. Keep the appli-
