of the oil, then shake the canister. Fill
in the rest of the petrol and shake the
canister again.
3. Remove the ller cap and ll the fuel
mixture into the petrol tank. Wipe
spilled fuel from around the ller open-
ing and replace the ller cap.
Tests before starting the
appliance
Verify that the spark plug connector is
attached properly. A lose connector may
produce sparks that might ignite any
fuel-air mixture escaping.
Verify that all switches move freely and
that the safety devices are operative.
Verify that the blade is mounted properly
and that the handles are clean.
Verify that there is enough fuel in the
tank and ll up as necessary.
Starting the motor
1. Place the appliance on a solid and
even surface. Check that the bla-
de is not touching any objects or
the ground.
2. To start the ignition, move the On/
Off switch (17) to I.
3. If starting the engine afresh, turn
the choke (7) clockwise until it
snaps in.
4. Press the fuel pump (primer) (9)
5-10x until fuel starts coming out.
5. Hold the appliance by the front
anti-vibration handle with your left
hand and step down on the rear
handle with your right foot.
6. Pull the starter cord on the starter
handle (8) until the engine starts.
7. Press the throttle lock (19) and
the throttle (18) at the same
time. The choke (7) will release
automatically.
Stopping the motor
1. Let go of the throttle.
2. To stop the ignition, move the stop
switch to „O“.
For an emergency stop, set the
On/Off switch.
Operation
Take heed of noise protection and
local regulations. Do not trim hedges
during rest periods.
While trimming mind not to
touch any objects such as wire
fences or plant supports since
this may damage the blade bar.
In case a solid object obstructs
the blades, immediately turn off
the appliance and remove the
object.
Avoid too much stress on the
appliance.
Adjusting the handle
The handle turns left and right by
45° and 90° either side. This al-
lows you to choose the most con-
venient and comfortable position.
Push down the handle adjustment
knob (11) and turn the handle to the
appropriate position. It will audibly
snap in.
Do not press the throttle at that
time because this will disallow the
handle to move.
