Assigning and Changing a Light Bulb’s Lighting Group
Note: This section describes managing lighting groups through your remote control. It is easier to set up your lighting groups
using your smart device or Web browser and then only use your remote control for turning on and off your lighting groups.
You can assign or change the lighting group to which a light bulb belongs, and you can change multiple light
bulbs so that they all belong to the same lighting group. To change a light bulb’s lighting group, you must first
remove the bulb from the network using the removal procedure in this chapter. After the light bulb is removed,
you can use the procedure in this chapter for adding the light bulb to the network and assign it to the new lighting
group.
Adding and Removing Light Bulbs
In most cases you should use your smart device or Web browser to manage your light bulbs, including installing
them or removing them from your network. However, you can also perform these tasks using your remote control.
Using Your Remote Control to Add Light Bulbs to Your Network
Your remote control can manage up to 40 light bulbs on the same lighting network. When you add a light bulb to
the network, you also assign it to a lighting group. To add light bulbs to the network using your remote control:
1. Make sure your remote control is in range of the light bulb you are adding. Remove the battery cover
from the back of the remote control so that you have access to the Program button.
