6.4 OPERATING TIPS
Regular inspection is the most important step to proper maintenance. By follow-
ing the guidelines below, you can maximize the safety, durability, and effective-
ness of your pole saw. Should you identify any damaged or excessively worn
parts, replace them immediately.
Remove the battery pack from the pole saw before inspecting, cleaning, or
performing Maintenance.
When servicing, use only the manufacturer’s recommended replacement parts
and accessories.
Never let petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with
plastic parts.
When cleaning the edger, do not immerse it in water or other liquids.
Do not touch the blade with your hands directly. Wear gloves or wrap the blade
in a thick cloth.

Hold and guide the power head so that the blade is vertical.
Walk slowly. Cut at a steady pace.
Do not force the blade into the ground. Light contact of the blade against the sidewalk
edge, curb, etc., is acceptable and will not damage the edger.
Always walk forwards when cutting and move the edger forward. Do not pull the edger
towards you.
Avoid edging in wet soil or wet grass areas, the blade guard might clog and result in
an uneven edge. If the blade guard becomes clogged, stop the motor, remove the
battery pack, and remove debris from the blade guard.

Use a small brush or small vacuum cleaner to clean the air vents on the rear housing.
Clean the exterior of your machine using a damp cloth with mild detergent.
Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic housing or the handle. They can be
damaged by certain aromatic oils, such as pine and lemon, and by solvents such as
