STEERING PARTS
REMOVAL
Remove bolts. Save and mark the shims Use the same method for
Remove the upper flange. Remove the trunnion the lower flange
If necessary, use puller bolts to
remove the flange. Remove the upper and lower seals
with a screwdriver or pry bar
* flange = cap or lever Replace when reassembling.
Remove the If necessary With wrench
horizontally Use inertia puller for removing the
upper and lower bearing cups.
Remove: Remove the constant velocity joint If necessary, use puller to remove
the nut and shaft assembly the bearing cones.
the cover Remove the guide bushing.
the oil seal Replace when reassembling. If
the spherical shell (bowl) necessary, use a chisel to remove.
These elements must be replaced
when reassembling.
