(9.1 kg) must use car seat rear-facing. Child restraints (car seats) could be recalled for safety reasons. You must register this restraint to be reached in a recall.
WARNINGS - Prevent serious injury or death: Failure to follow these instructions and car seat labels can result in child striking the vehicle’s interior during a sudden stop or crash. Secure car seat with a vehicle seat belt or LATCH that is properly routed as shown in this manual. Select a suitable location for the car seat in your vehicle. DO NOT use rear-facing child restraint in a vehicle seating position equipped with an air bag.
WARNINGS - Prevent serious injury or death (continued): If car seat is in a crash, it must be replaced. DO NOT use it again! A crash can cause unseen damage and using it again could result in serious injury or death. DO NOT use car seat if it is damaged or missing parts. WHAT IS LATCH? United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards have defined a new system for installing car seats in vehicles. The system is called LATCH. LATCH stands for: Lower Anchorage and Tether for CH ildren. Typical seat in a passenger vehicle. Other vehicle types may have different LATCH locations. Vehicle Top Tether Anchor Points LATCH System for Vehicles: LATCH in the vehicle consists of a top tether anchor point and two lower anchor points.

HEIGHT & WEIGHT LIMITS Rear-facing: 5 to 30 lbs. (13.6 kg) • Infants who weigh less than 20 lbs. (9.0 kg) MUST be rear-facing. ❃ Preterm or Low Birth Weight • Infants or toddlers 20 to 30 lbs. (9.0 to 13.6 kg) may be rear-facing. IMPORTANT: This car seat is certified for use rear-facing with children up to 30 lbs. (13.6 kg). However, some children approaching 30 lbs. (13.6 kg) may be too tall to fit comfortably rear-facing.

To prevent serious injury or death: • Keep harness straps snug and positioned on shoulders with harness tie at arm pit level. • Do not use strap covers, blankets, cushions, or padding under harness straps or child unless provided by Graco. • Child should be dressed in clothing that does not interfere with buckling the harness.

VEHICLE SEAT BELTS WARNING Not all vehicle seat belts can be used with a car seat. The car seat must be held securely at all times by a lap belt (or lap belt portion of a lap/shoulder belt) that will not change length while driving. To provide the most secure installation of the car seat: • Read the vehicle owner’s manual regarding car seat installation and seat belt use with car seat. • Follow all instruction labels on vehicle seat belt and car seat.
VEHICLE SEAT BELTS (continued) ❃ Belts Forward of Seat Crease Vehicle seat belts located forward of seat crease may not securely hold car seat. Check vehicle owner’s manual or see vehicle dealer for car seat installation requirements. Seat Crease • If approved for use with car seat, install car seat and check for secure installation by pulling car seat front to back. If car seat slides forward, DO NOT use these seat belts.
VEHICLE SEAT BELTS (continued) ❃ Lap Belts - Manually Adjustable The locking latch plate on some seat belts may slip and loosen after being buckled on car seat if positioned at a certain angle. If this happens, flip latch plate over (fig. a) and re-buckle. Test installation again to see if this works. If not, move car seat to another seating position. Flip ❃ Lap Belts - With Retractor Lap belts with retractors may or may not hold a car seat securely. (fig.
VEHICLE SEAT BELTS (continued) ❃ Passive Restraint - Lap Belt with Motorized Shoulder Belt DO NOT use with any car seat. ❃ Passive Restraint - Lap or Shoulder Belt Mounted on Door DO NOT use with any car seat. Belts will not stay tight while driving.
VEHICLE SEAT BELTS (continued) ❃ Combination Lap/Shoulder Belt with Sliding Latch Plate Pull on latch plate (fig. a). If belt slides freely through latch plate, a locking clip MUST be used (see Pg. 31 “Locking Clip” section). Pull Some combination lap/shoulder belts with sliding latch plates may be converted into an “automatic locking mode” that will allow use without a locking clip. See vehicle owner’s manual and label on vehicle belts for instructions. (fig.

Avoid serious injury or death: • Hold belts together and remove locking clip. • Failure to use locking clip where required will result in car seat not being securely held in place. • Shorten length of lap belt portion slightly by pulling belt through latch plate.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ❃ Tether Storage DO NOT anchor tether strap to the vehicle when using car seat rear-facing. Tether Hook Tether hook must be attached to car seat for rear-facing use or if vehicle is not equipped with tether anchors. For storage of tether hook: • Attach tether hook to back of car seat as shown. • Pull loose end of adjustment strap to remove any slack. • Roll loose end of adjustment strap up and secure with a rubber band.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 1 ❃ Cup Holder Available on some models: • Locate slot in armrest UNDER armrest pad on either side of car seat. • Push cupholder down over side of seat and snap cupholder into slot to secure. 2 2 Removing Cup Holder: • Feel bottom of cupholder and locate tab on bottom edge. • Press tab in while lifting cup holder out and up.

CINTURONES DE SEGURIDAD DEL VEHÍCULO ❃ Cinturones ubicados delante del pliegue del asiento Los cinturones de seguridad del vehículo ubicados delante del pliegue en el asiento quizá no sujeten bien el asiento. Consulte el manual del propietario del vehículo o visite el concesionario del vehículo para informarse sobre los requisitos de instalación de los asientos.
CINTURONES DE SEGURIDAD DEL VEHÍCULO ❃ Cinturones de regazo - ajustables manualmente La placa de cierre en algunos cinturones de seguridad se puede deslizar y soltar tras abrocharla al asiento en ciertos ángulos. En este caso, dé la vuelta a la placa de cierre (fig. a) y vuelva a abrocharla. Compruebe la instalación de nuevo para ver si funciona. Si no funciona, coloque el asiento de seguridad en otra posición diferente.
CINTURONES DE SEGURIDAD DEL VEHÍCULO ❃ Cinturón pasivo - cinturón de regazo con cinturón de hombro motorizado NO SE DEBE usar con ningún asiento. ❃ Cinturón pasivo - cinturón de regazo y hombro montado en la puerta NO SE DEBE usar con ningún asiento. Los cinturones no se mantendrán apretados durante el manejo del auto.

INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL ❃ Almacenaje del anclaje NO conecte la correa de anclaje superior al vehículo al utilizar el asiento orientado hacia atrás. Gancho del anclaje El gancho del anclaje debe conectarse cuando el asiento se usa en orientación trasera o si el vehículo no viene equipado con los anclajes correspondientes. Para almacenar el gancho del anclaje: • Conecte el gancho del anclaje a la parte trasera del asiento como se indica. • Jale el extremo suelto de la correa para apretarla.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL 1 ❃ Portabebidas Disponible en algunos modelos: • Ubique la ranura en el reposabrazos debajo de la almohadilla del reposabrazos en uno o otros lados del asiento para el automóvil. 2 • Trabe el portabebidas en la ranura en el lado de asiento. Para quitar el portabebidas: 2 • Pase la mano por debajo de la portabebidas para ubicar la pestaña en el borde inferior. • Oprima la pestaña hacia dentro mientras levanta el portabebidas.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL ❃ Cuidado y limpieza Retirar la almohadilla: Retire los dos bucles de las correas del arnés de la placa de unión de la parte trasera del asiento y páselos por la parte delantera de la almohadilla. Desabroche el cierre del arnés, (vea las páginas 20 y 21, fig. f) retire las lengüetas de la hebilla. 1 Desenganche los ganchos en forma de "J" del armazón del asiento.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL Las almohadillas del asiento y de la barra protectora: Se lavan a máquina por separado en el ciclo delicado y se secan al aire. Correas del arnés y del sistema LATCH: Se lava la superficie solamente con un jabón suave y un paño mojado. Si las correas del arnés están deshilachadas o muy sucias, DEBEN reemplazarse. Armazón y apoyavasos de la barra protectora: Se limpian con una solución de jabón suave y agua. Evite mojar las etiquetas.
