GENERAL SAFETY FIRE Most fires are caused by a build up of grease, or (if using gas) an improper gas connection. Ensure all people and pets are kept as far away as possible. If you are able, turn the gas off at the cylinder or the on/off valve where applicable. Use a fire extinguisher if possible. If water is the only fire retardant available, thoroughly soak the area around the appliance.

FIRING UP GAS GAS SAFETY WARNING Prior to use, check the oven and burner and venturi for blockages (eg, food residue or insect nests - Wasps, Bees or Ants.) If an insect nest is found they can be dangerous and must be cleaned out thoroughly. Please refer to the cleaning and maintenance sections at the end of this chapter for guidance on how to do this. Should the appliance go out for any reason, turn off the control knob and the cylinder gas valve. Wait 5 minutes before attempting to relight the appliance.
FIRING UP GAS CONNECTING TO GAS STEP 1 Check that the gas you have is Propane LPG. The gas cylinder used must have a safety collar to protect the valve assembly. Do not use a cylinder that is rusty, dented or has a damaged valve. For US & Canadian Customers Gas cylinder, must be constructed and marked in accordance with the specifications for LP gas cylinders, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) or the Standard for Cylinders, Spheres and Tubes for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods, CAN/CSA-B339.
FIRING UP GAS CONNECTING TO GAS STEP 2 Connect the regulator to the gas canister, following the instructions for your regulator accordingly. Don’t force the regulator as this could damage the gas bottle.
FIRING UP GAS GAS LEAKS To test for gas leaks, apply a mixture of soapy water to these highlighted areas using a brush as well as any areas that show cracks. on the piping. Hose connection WARNING Check for gas leaks every time you disconnect and reconnect a gas fitting. Do not ignite burners when leak checking. Roccbox connection Do not use an open flame to check for gas leaks. Do not create sparks or have open flames in the area whilst changing gas supply.
FIRING UP GAS WARNING If there is a leak at the Roccbox connection, re-tighten the fitting with a spanner and recheck for leaks with soap-and-water solution. If a leak persists turn off the gas. and DO NOT OPERATE THE OVEN. If there is a leak at the Valve connection, remove LP cylinder. Do not operate oven. Use a different LP cylinder and recheck for leaks with soap-and-water solution.
FIRING UP GAS DISCONNECTING GAS After cooking, turn off the gas from the gas canister before turning off Roccbox. This will allow any gas left in the burner or pipe to be used up safely.

KOHLENMONOXID Kohlenmonoxid ist ein äußerst giftiges Gas, das entstehen kann, wenn das Gerät nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert. Unabhängig davon, ob Sie Holz oder Gas verwenden, kann Kohlenmonoxid entstehen, wenn der Brenner nicht ausreichend belüftet wird. Daher empfehlen wir die Verwendung des Geräts in einem gut belüfteten Bereich ohne direkten Wind. Decken Sie niemals die Ofenöffnung ab! Es ist schwer festzustellen, wann Ihr Gerät Kohlenmonoxid produziert, da das Gas geruch- und farblos ist.

FIRING UP GAS GASSICHERHEIT ACHTUNG Vor der Nutzung sind Ofen und Brenner sowie Lufttrichter auf Verstopfungen zu prüfen (z. B. Nahrungsmittelreste oder Insektennester - Wespen, Bienen oder Ameisen). Insektennester sind eine Gefahrenquelle. Sollte eines gefunden werden, ist es gründlich zu entfernen. Am Ende des Kapitels finden Sie im Abschnitt „Reinigung und Wartung“ eine Anleitung, wie hierbei vorzugehen ist.

Nehmen Sie sich einen Moment, um zu prüfen, welcher Regler bei Ihnen eingebaut ist und befolgen Sie die entsprechenden Anweisungen. Üben Sie keine Kraft auf den Regler aus, um die Gasflasche nicht zu beschädigen.
GASLECKAGEN Zum Prüfen auf Gasleckagen eine Mischung aus Seifenwasser auf die gekennzeichneten Bereiche aufbringen. GAS TRENNEN ACHTUNG Sicherstellen, dass nach dem Kochen die Gaszufuhr aus dem Kanister abgedreht wird, bevor Sie die Roccbox ausschalten. Dadurch wird in dem Brenner oder der Schlauchleitung verbliebenes Gas sicher aufgebraucht. Bei jedem Trennen und Wiederanschließen eines Gasanschlusses auf Gasleckagen prüfen. Beim Prüfen auf Leckagen keinesfalls den Brenner zünden.
