Test: Connection Tests – On Test – Safety Class Detection
Connection of the DUT is tested by means of the following three
individual tests. OK is displayed each time a test is passed, and
Error appears each time a test is failed.
PE Connection Test
(mains connection test for the test system)
Testing to determine whether or not the protective conductor is
connected.
R
PE
< 15 k í connection OK
R
PE
> 15 k í not connected
PE Potential Test
(mains connection test for the test system)
Testing to determine whether or not the protective conductor is
charged with dangerous contact voltage. Touch the contact
surface to this end.
U < 15 V~* í connection OK
U > 15 V~* í warning
* Assuming earth resistance of 1 M
Short-Circuit Test
– Test for short-circuiting at the device under test
1 Test for short-circuiting of N and L
2 Test for short-circuiting of N or L to the protective conductor
R < 0.5 í short-circuit
R > 5 í no short-circuit
On Test
– Test to determine whether the device under test is
switched on or off
The on test is executed by measuring the input impedance of the
device under test at the test socket:
R < 250 k í DUT switched on í message: ON
R > 300 k í DUT switched off í message: OFF
