Equipment Leakage Current
Application
Measurement of device leakage current is required for:
Electrical medial devices in accordance with IEC 62353
(VDE 0751-1).
Definition
Devices leakage current is the sum of all leakage current from the
housing, exposed conductive parts and application parts to PE
(protective earth).
Parameters
• Measuring range: 300 A, 3 mA, 30 mA or auto
(automatic switching amongst the ranges)
• Test voltage Ut: 110 V ... 240 V
• Test frequency ft: 400 Hz, 200 Hz, 60 Hz or 50 Hz
• Measurement duration: 5 s, 10 s, 15 s, 30 s or continuous
• Measurement type:
– Direct measuring method

– Differential current measuring method

– Equivalent leakage current measuring method
In order to select the correct type of connection:
Select the measurement type and check the associated wiring
diagram after accessing it with the help function.

Measurement must be performed with mains polarity in both
directions. The largest value is docuimented.
