Operation Manual

32 GMC-I Messtechnik GmbH
Initial Start-Up – Setup
Parameter, “File Enabling” (Samba server function)
This parameter makes it possible to access an inserted CF card
via the LAN. In this way, for example, a catalog file can be read
out from the CD card via the LAN. The file can then be read in, for
example to PS3, with the “Import data from tester” function.
Example regarding assignment of a drive for the CF card in a
current Windows XP version:
At the test system: file enabling: activate
At the PC:
Windows Explorer > Tools > Connect Network Drive
> Drive: V
> Directory: \\169.xxx.xxx.xxx\cf
(IP address which has been assigned to the test system)
The following access data are predefined:
> User name: samba
> Password: samba
Logging Off of the LAN
If the LAN connection is no longer required, the web server
should be deactivated. Otherwise it continuously transmits data
and unnecessarily expends system resources.
Don’t forget to reactivate the proxy server at your Internet Ex-
plorer!
4.11.1 Update – Updating System Software
Continuous further development of the test system in response to
customer requirements results in expansion and improvement of
the test system software at regular intervals.
It is advisable to purchase a service contract, assuring that you’ll
receive system software updates at regular intervals. Please con-
tact our product support department to this end (see page 2).
Attention!
!
SECUSTAR FM+ and SECULIFE SB may not be operated with a
software version older than 1.9.6.
The following update prerequisites must be observed:
You must be logged in as administrator!
•The test system must be connected to the mains and a fully
charged battery set must be inserted for performing an up-
date.
A CF card with adequate capacity must be inserted.
After inserting the CF card, a waiting period of 10 to 15 sec-
onds is required for recognition and loading by the system.
Data on the CF card cannot be accessed until this process has
been completed. If an attempt is made to access the card pre-
maturely, the following message appears:
“CompactFlash – can’t read card”.
