Initial Start-Up – Setup
Connecting the test system to the LAN
Attention!
!
Consult with the responsible LAN administrator before
connecting the test system to your company LAN.
Note
As an alternative to connecting the system to the respective
company LAN, the test system can be directly connected to
your PC with a crossover cable, or a standard LAN cable
and a hub.
Ð Connect the test system to the LAN.
If the system has been correctly connected to an active LAN by
means of a LAN cable, die grüne LED oberhalb des LAN-Steck-
ers am Prüfsystem. Die gelbe LED blinkt im Takt des Datenflus-
ses.
Assigning an IP Address
Attention!
!
Consult with your LAN administrator before assigning an
IP address.
LAN with DHCP server:
(DHCP: dynamic host control protocol)
Prerequisite: The test system must be connected to the LAN
before it is switched on.
The IP address and the subnet mask are assigned by
the DHCP server, and are entered automatically to the
test system.
Note: There is no assurance that the same IP address will be
assigned each time.
LAN without DHCP server:
A fixed IP address and subnet mask are set up automatically
by the test system:
IP address: 169.254.191.151
Net mask: 255.255.255.0
Note: After rebooting on a LAN with DHCP server, the
previous permanently assigned IP address is overwritten.
Direct connection to the PC via LAN cable and hub,
or via crossover cable:
A fixed IP address and subnet mask are set up automatically
by the test system:
IP address: 169.254.191.151
Net mask: 255.255.255.0
Note: After rebooting on a LAN with DHCP server, the previous
permanently assigned IP address is overwritten.
