11.6 Displays – Error Messages
Displays and Error Messages Meaning / Cause Remedy
LCD does not light up
Mains power cable not plugged in Plug in the power cable (see page 16).
Batteries are excessively discharged
Leave test system connected to the mains with the
power cable for approx. 30 min.
ONSTART was not pressed
Press and hold the ONSTART key for at least
3 seconds (see page 19).
LCD no longer reacts when touch screen is activated Press the reset key (see page 14).
Probe test The probe must be connected in order to contact
the housing which is connected to the protective
conductor.
Connect probe 1/2. Connect the probe to sockets 1 and 2 (see page 14).
Switch the device under test on.
The DUT connected to the test socket must be
switched on for insulation testing.
Switch the device under test on.
Caution: Execute all safety measurements before
starting the function test.
Safety precaution
Do not start the function test until after the protective
conductor resistance measurement for safety class 1,
the insulation resistance measurement and the leak-
age current measurements have been executed and
passed by the device under test.
Error (PE potential test)
Mains connection error: voltage at the protective
conductor (PE) when the contact surface is touched
with the finger.
Error (PE connection test)
The test system’s mains power cable is defective. Inspect the mains power cable.
Mains connection error: no PE contact. Check PE contact at mains power supply.
Error (probe test) The probe is not connected. Connect the probe to sockets 1 and 2 (see page 14).
Error (short-circuit test) Short-circuit at the test socket
There is a short-circuit in the device under test or in
the DUT connector cable.
OFF (on test) The device under test is not switched on. Switch the device under test on.
