7.3.1 Catalog of Designations – Device Categories
Designations for commonly tested object types can be entered
and saved with this function, which you can access via a drop-
down list when entering individual DUTs.
Designations from this catalog can be used when entering object
types.
The designations are arranged alphabetically.
Entering a New Designation
When a new data record is entered, an object hierarchy must first
be selected if more than one has been activated.
Enter the designation using the softkey keyboard after selecting
the entry field.
The new designation is added to the catalog by tapping Save .
We recommend saving newly entered designations at regular
intervals with the help of the Backup function in the Setup
menu (see section 4.11.3),
or via the data export function as an
XML file which is independent of a version, see section 7.7.6 .
Editing a Designation
Designations can be selected for editing from a catalog of
previously entered designations by selecting the respective line.
The edited designation is used for all existing objects.
