5 Manually Triggered Measurements –

Individual Measurements

Individual tests are executed at the “Manual Test” menu level.

Tests can be executed here in a targeted fashion while repairing

defective devices under test.

Other applications are started in the accessories or setup menu.

You should double check all parameters before starting the re-

spective measurement with the ONSTART key. Adjustable param-

eters are highlighted by means of raised buttons. Before starting

the actual measurement, it is also advisable to conduct a visual

inspection, as well as a connection test with the help of the test

function.

5.1 General Procedure

Select the “Manual Test” main menu .

Ð Select the measuring function.

Ð Double check the selected parameter settings.

Readjust them if necessary.

Ð Select the desired type of measurement: type of DUT, type of

connection.

Ð Connect the DUT in accordance with the wiring diagrams

provided by the help function (HELP button) and the above

selected type of connection.

Depending upon the type of connection selected for the DUT, use

of probes, adapters or a clip-on ammeter may be required.

Ð Start the test with the ONSTART key.

The following symbol appears for the duration of the

measurement:

After measurement has been completed – after the selected

measuring time has elapsed, or if (long-term) measurement is

aborted by pressing the ONSTART key – the following symbol ap-

pears:

Measurement data can be read from the display or printed out.

Ð The display is returned to the main menu by pressing the ESC

or the MENU key.
