Initial Start-Up – Setup
Rechargeable battery (charging process)
In contrast to conventional, commercially available storage bat-
tery-operated instruments, an inserted battery set is not re-
charged until it falls below a fixed threshold.
This is due to the fact that the SECUSTAR FM+/SECULIFE SB may not be
permanently recharged while being changed between different types of mains
connections. This would corrupt the rechargeable battery set within a short
period of time.
The charging concept with the above-mentioned fixed threshold, however,
ensures that the battery is only recharged if it is almost entirely depleted.
When the SECUSTAR FM+/SECULIFE SB is supplied with mains power
for more than 2 hours without interruption (in on or off state), the battery
charging process is launched automatically, independent of the battery
charging condition. A battery which is supplied overnight with mains
power, is therefore always fully charged.
Of course, it is also possible to start the fast charging process via
the express charge button in the setup menu at any time
(see section 4.10.8).
4.3 Switching the Test System On
Prerequisite for switching the test system on:
• The test system is connect to the mains with the mains cable
(see section 4.1).
or
• A charged battery pack is installed (see section 4.2).
Ð Press and hold the ONSTART key for approximately 3
seconds . The initial window appears.

Note

The touch screen must be calibrated from time to time before
the login menu appears (see section 4.10.3 on page 26).

User name.
Ð Ignore the password
prompt. Tap the Login
key

Ð Select a test person
from the list which appears after clicking the drop-down arrow.
