7.7.3 Synchronizing the Hierarchies
Due to the fact that the same hierarchies exist in vFM / PS3 as in
the test system, they must be reconciled before the first data trans-
mission takes place.
If the files (catalog/data) are exported or imported, the “Vers.def”
file is required. It must be specified in this file which hierarchies are
supported by the vFM / PS3 program.
This file must therefore always be generated by vFM / PS3 before
the first import/export (see section 7.7.2).
Before import or export, the test system first checks to determine
whether or not the object structures are identical. If differences
exist, the user has to decide how to proceed (e.g. delete the
objects in non-supported, but existing object types ...). You can
only continue when both object structures are identical. Before
this reconciliation, there is only one help hierarchy in the
test system, namely HK0. All objects are entered to this hierarchy.
During the first data reconciliation with vFM / PS3 for which a
“Vers.def” file is created, the user can select to which hierarchy
the test system exports the objects.
7.7.4 Data Import from vFM / PS3
Data records are selected here for import from vFM / PS3 at the PC
to the test system via the CF card / USB stick. Select the file in
L&H Format function to this end. The respective file name ends
with the .exp extension.
If you want to select the file manually, you can choose to transmit
only the catalog data required for the DUTs, or only portable data.
Otherwise, the test instrument loads both types of data, one after
the other.
Prerequisites
The CF card / USB stick has been formatted (see section 7.7.1).
The CF / USB stick card is inserted.
The yellow LED next to the slot is lit up.
The name of the import file cannot be changed.
Explorer Functions for Data Import and Export
The display can be returned to the root directory with the “..” soft-
key at the upper right after selecting a subdirectory (this is always
displayed in brackets).
