13.8 Returns and Environmentally Sound Disposal
The instrument is a category 9 product (monitoring and control
instrument) in accordance with ElektroG (German electrical and
electronic device law). This device is subject to the RoHS direc-
tive. Furthermore, we make reference to the fact that the current
status in this regard can be accessed on the Internet at
www.gossenmetrawatt.com by entering the search term WEEE.
We identify our electrical and electronic devices in
accordance with WEEE 2012/19/EU and ElektroG
using the symbol shown at the right per DIN EN 50419.
These devices may not be disposed of with the trash.
Please contact our service department regarding the return of old
devices (see address in Section 15).
14 Appendix
14.1 List of Suitable Printers with USB connection
The following devices have been tested for use with the test
instrument. We are unable to offer any guarantees regarding use
with other devices.
• Z721S thermal printer
• Z721D barcode printer
(as of firmware V1.3.0, will be replaced by Z721E as from
2018)
Setup options in the SETUP switch position
(Setup (2/3) > Printer > Z721D > Printer settings):
Coding: Code 39, Code 128, EAN13, Text, QR Code, Micro
QR Code, DataMatrix
The respective paper size will be adjusted automatically as
from FW 2.0 (6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm, 18 mm, 24 mm, 36 mm)

Note
Tapes
When using the label printer together with SECUTEST...,
only TZ(e) tapes in widths of 6 mm, 9 mm, 12 mm,
18 mm, 24 mm and 36 mm are supported.
Note
2D Code Labels
For printing 2D code labels
(QR Code, MicroQR Code, DataMatrix, Aztec)
we recommend label cartridges with tape widths of
12 mm or higher, however, at least 9 mm.
Note
Text Coding
In text print mode, print-out is limited to the CP1252
character set – characters which are not representable,
are replaced by „_“.

14.3 Application of USB Storage Devices
For various device functions (see section 3.5.5 and 5.2) USB flash
drives must be directly connected to the test instrument.
The connected USB storage medium must fulfill at least the fol-
lowing requirements in order to be applied with your test instru-
ment:
• The file system on the USB flash drive is formatted for FAT
(FAT32). NTFS or exFAT file systems are not compatible, for
example.
• Maximum power consumption of the USB storage medium
via the USB port may not exceed 500 mA.
• Do not use any USB storage devices with encoding functions.
Furthermore, you should ensure that the USB drive features an
LED display which indicates whether a write operation has already
been completed.
