Failure Possible cause Remedy
Unpleasant smell in the
washing machine drum.
Remains of fabrics, washing
agent and softener in the lter.
Development of germs
Check whether the lter is clean.
Run the auto-clean (SterilTub)
program (see chapter: selecting
additional functions)
Washing time is longer
than usual.
Time indicated on the
display is corrected during
the washing cycle.
Low temperature of inlet water.
The machine switched on
the UKS* system because of
uneven laundry load.
Low mains voltage.
There has been a failure in the
power supply.
Washing program time may be up
to 60% longer; however, this does
not imply a fault in the machine.
Washing time is extended by the
power supply down-time.
FAILURE 1
Program temperature not
reached
(F1 is displayed)
Temperature sensor
disconnected from the electronic
circuit.
Turn off the appliance and wait for
a few seconds;
turn the appliance back on and
repeat the washing program.
If the failure is reported again, call a
service technician.
FAILURE 2
Washing program does
not start
At the start of the
washing cycle: washing
stage symbol ashes.
During washing: F2 is
displayed
Door is not properly closed. Push it towards the machine.
FAILURE 3
Water is not supplied to
the machine
(F3 is displayed after
approx. 4 minutes).
Disturbed water inlet.
Check if:
• the water tap is open,
• inlet pipe net lter is clean.
Push the START button.
FAILURE 4
Spinning rpm not reached
in the selected program
(F4 is displayed)
rpm sensor disconnected
Motor overload due to too high
water level (manual addition of
water) or too big laundry load
• Motor failure
Turn off the appliance and wait for
a few seconds;
turn the appliance back on and
repeat the washing program.
If the failure is reported again, call a
service technician.

Motor operation
interrupted; or motor does
not operate
(F5 is displayed)
Motor overload or motor failure. Turn off the appliance and wait for
