Getting Started with ProScan

Hardware
The PC must have an available 9-pin
serial port. If your PC does not have a
serial port, ProScan will require a USB-
to-Serial adapter (sold separately).
Installing ProScan from CD-ROM
When upgrading from a previous version of ProScan, you must always uninstall
the original installation of ProScan before upgrading.
1. Insert the ProScan CD into your PC’s CD-ROM drive.
2. The ProScan installation should automatically begin. If not, browse the contents
of the CD and double-click the ProScan*.exe file.
3. ProScan requires that your PC have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed. If
your PC doesn’t have the latest version of the .NET Framework installed, you
should elect to install the .NET Framework when prompted to do so.
4. Follow the instructions provided on the dialogs.
Installing ProScan from the Website
When upgrading from a previous version of ProScan, you must always uninstall
the original installation of ProScan before upgrading.
If your PC does not already have the .NET Framework installed, you will need to
visit Windows Update and install it.
Windows Update:
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
1. Download the latest version of ProScan from:
http://www.myscantool.com/download
2. Execute the installation file you just downloaded.
3. Follow the instructions provided on the dialogs.
