Match Type The type of rule to match for the filter.
• Exact Match: The address or organization name
must match the rule exactly.
Examples:
User Name:
[e-mail] excludes that
single Google Apps user from user list
synchronization, but not group synchronization.
Group Name:
[e-mail]
excludes that Google Apps group from groups
synchronization.
Member Name:
[e-mail] excludes that
single Google Apps user from groups
synchronization.
• Substring Match: The address or organization
name must contain the text of the rule as a
substring.
Examples:
User Name:
sales excludes
[e-mail] and
[e-mail] .
Group Name:
Sales excludes
[e-mail] and
[e-mail] .
Member Name:
sales excludes
[e-mail] and
[e-mail] from groups
synchronization.
• Regular Expression: The address or organization
must match the regular expression in the rule.
Examples:
User Name the regular expression
team[3-
9]@example.com
excludes [e-mail]
through
[e-mail] .
Group Name: the regular expression
Local Team -
[A-Z][A-Z]
excludes the “Local Team - NJ” and
“Local Team - AZ” groups.
Member Name: the regular expression
team[3-
9]@example.com
excludes [e-mail]
through
[e-mail] from groups
synchronization.
