Flexible liners should be hung st raight or nearly st raight . If it is spiraled in t he chimney and in good condit ion, it should be rehung. To do t his, break t he top seal; pull up and cut off t he excess liner lengt h, and refit t he top seal. Use caut ion w hen doing t his, as t he cut edges of flexible liners may be sharp. The surfaces of t he liner must be physically sound. If gaps or holes are present , t he met al liner must be removed and replaced (Fix 4).

To connect t he furnace to t he building’s gas piping, t he installer must supply a ground joint union, drip leg, manual shut off valve, and line and fit t ings t o connect t o gas valve. In some cases, t he inst aller m ay also need t o supply a t ransit ion piece from 1/2" pipe t o a larger pipe size.
