2 Shipping Inspection
Always t ransport t he unit upright ; laying t he unit on it s side
or t op during t ransit may cause equipment damage. The
inst aller should inspect t he product upon receipt f or ship-
ping damage and subsequent invest igat ion is t he responsi-
bilit y of t he carrier. The inst aller must verif y t he model
number, specificat ions, elect rical charact erist ics, and ac-
cessories are correct prior t o inst allat ion. The dist ribut or
or manuf act urer wil l not accept claims f rom dealers f or
t ransport at ion damage or inst allat ion of incorrect ly shipped
unit s.
2.1 Part s
Also inspect t he unit t o verif y all required component s
are present and int act . Report any missing component s
immediat ely t o t he manuf act urer or t o t he dist ribut or.
Use only f act ory aut horized replacement part s (see Sec-
t ion 5). Make sure t o include t he f ull product model
number and serial number when report ing and/ or ob-
t aining service part s.
2.2 Handling
Use caut ion when t ransport ing/ carrying t he unit . Do not
move unit using shipping st raps. Do not carry unit wit h
hooks or sharp obj ect s. The pref erred met hod of car-
rying t he unit af t er arrival at t he j ob sit e is t o carry via
a t wo-wheel hand t ruck f rom t he back or sides or via
hand by carrying at t he cabinet corners.
3 Codes & Regulations
This product is designed and manuf act ured t o comply wit h
applicable nat ional codes. Inst allat ion in accordance wit h
such codes and/ or prevailing local codes/ regulat ions is t he
responsibilit y of t he inst aller. The manuf act urer assumes
no responsibilit y f or equipment inst alled in violat ion of any
codes or regulat ions.
The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
has issued various regulations regarding the introduction
and disposal of refrigerants. Failure to follow these regu-
lations may harm the environment and can lead to the
imposition of substantial fines. Should you have any ques-

4 Replacement Parts
When report ing short ages or damages, or ordering repair
part s, give t he complet e product model and serial numbers
as st amped on t he product . Replacement part s for t his

5 Pre-Installation Considerations
5.1 Preparat ion
Keep t his document wit h t he unit . Caref ully read al l in-
st ruct ions f or t he inst allat ion prior t o inst alling product .
Make sure each st ep or procedure is underst ood and any
special considerat ions are t aken int o account bef ore
st art ing inst allat ion. Assemble all t ools, hardware and
supplies needed t o complet e t he inst allat ion. Some it ems
may need t o be purchased locally. Make sure everyt hing
needed t o inst all t he product is on hand bef ore st art ing.
5.2 Syst em Mat ches
The ent ire syst em (combinat ion of indoor and out door
sect ions) must be manufact urer approved and Air-Con-
dit ioning, Heat ing, and Ref rigerat ion Inst it ut e (AHRI)
list ed. NOTE: Inst allat ion of unmat ched syst ems is not
permit t ed.
5.3 Interconnecting T ubing
Give special considerat ion t o minimize t he lengt h of
ref rigerant t ubing when inst alling air handlers. Ref er
t o Remot e Cooling/ Heat Pump Service Manual
RS6200006, and TP-107 Long Line Set Applicat ion R-
410A f or t ubing guidelines. If possible, allow adequat e
lengt h of t ubing such t hat t he coil may be removed (f or
inspect ion or cleaning services) f rom t he cabinet wit h-
out disconnect ing t he t ubing.
5.4 Clearances
The unit clearance f rom a combust ible surf ace may be
0". However, service clearance must t ake precedence.
A minimum of 24" in f ront of t he unit f or service clear-
ance is required. Addit ional clearance on one side or
t op will be required f or elect rical wiring connect ions.
Consult all appropriat e regulat ory codes prior t o de-
t ermining final cl earances. When inst alling t his unit in
an area t hat may become wet (such as crawl spaces),
elevat e t he unit wit h a st urdy, non-porous mat erial. In
inst allat ions t hat may lead t o physical damage (i.e. a
garage) it is advised t o inst all a prot ect ive barrier t o
prevent such damage. Always inst all unit s such t hat a
posit ive slope in condensat e line (1/ 4" per f oot ) is al-
lowed.
5. 5 Horizont al Applicat ions
If inst alled above a f inished living space, a secondary
drain pan (as required by many building codes), must be
inst alled under t he ent ire unit and it s condensat e drain
line must be rout ed t o a locat ion such t hat t he user will
see t he condensat e discharge.
