This product is factory-shipped with R410A and dry
nitrogen mixture gas under pressure. Use appropriate
service tools and follow these instructions to prevent
injury.
NOTE: Ref rigerant t ubing must be rout ed t o allow adequat e
access f or servicing and maint enance of t he unit .
Do not inst all t he air handler in a locat ion t hat violat es t he
inst ruct ions provided wit h t he condenser. If t he unit is
locat ed in an uncondit ioned area wit h high ambient
t emperat ure and/ or high humidit y, t he air handler may be

7.1 Tubing Size
For t he correct t ubing size, f ollow t he specificat ion f or
t he condenser/ heat pump.
7.2 Tubing Preparat ion
All cut ends are t o be round, burr f ree, and clean. Fail-

7.3 Special Inst ructions
Unit s wit hout a f act ory inst alled TXV come equipped
wit h a f lowrat or pist on for ref rigerant expansion. For
most inst allat ions wit h mat ching applicat ions, no
change t o t he f lowrat or pist on is required. However,
in mix-mat ched applicat ions, a f lowrat or pist on
change may be required. See t he pist on kit chart (pro-
vided in t he lit erat ure packet ) or consult your local
dist ribut or f or det ails regarding mix-mat ched
flowrat or pist on sizing. If t he mix-mat ch applicat ion
requires a dif ferent f lowrat or pist on size, change t he
flowrat or pist on in t he f lowrat or body on t he indoor
coil bef ore inst alling t he coil and use t he procedure
in sect ion 7. 4.
NOTE: The use of a heat shield is st rongly recommended
when brazing t o avoid burning t he serial plat e or t he
finish of t he unit .
Heat t rap or wet rags must be used
t o prot ect heat sensit ive component s such as service
valves and TXV valves sensing bulb.
A quenching cloth is strongly recommended to prevent
scorching or marring of the equipment finish when
brazing close to the painted surfaces. Use brazing
alloy of 5% minimum silver content.
Applying too much heat to any tube can melt the tube. Torch
heat required to braze tubes of various sizes must be
proportional to the size of the tube. Service personnel must
use the appropriate heat level for the size of the tube being
brazed.
