POSITION
Allowsmanualentryofthelatitudeandlongitudeofyour
vessel’slocation.ThisallowstheDSCfunctiontotransmit
yourpositioncoordinatesinanemergency.Theposition
mustbeenteredinDegrees,MinutesandDecimal/Minutes
(DMM).
To enter your position
1. Select‘POSITION’fromtheGPSMenuthenpressthe
CALLbutton.
2. Usethe or keystoselect‘N’(North)or‘S’(South).
3. PressandholdtheCALLbutton.Thecursormovestothe
rstdigitpositionoftheLatitudeeld.
4. Usethe or keystoselecttherstdigitofthe
LatitudethenbrieypresstheCALLbuttontomoveto
thenextdigitposition.
5. Repeatuntilalldigitshavebeenentered.
6. PressandholdtheCALLbuttontoconrmandstorethe
Latitude.ThecursorwillmovetotheLongitudeeld.
7. Usethe or keystoselect‘E’(East)or‘W’(West)
then press and hold the CALLbutton.Thecursormoves
totherstdigitpositionoftheLongitudeeld.
8. Usethe or keystoselecttherstdigitofthe
LongitudethenbrieypresstheCALLbuttontomoveto
thenextdigitposition.
9. Repeatuntilalldigitshavebeenentered.
10.Whennished,pressandholdtheCALLbuttonto
conrmandstoretheposition.
NOTE: Thepositionwillbeerasedafter23hoursorwhen
theradioisswitchedoff.
UTC TIME
LetsyoumanuallysetthetimeinUTC(GreenwichMean
Time).ThetimeisenteredasHours:Minutes:Secondsin24
hourtimeformat.
TO ENTER THE TIME IN UTC:
1. Fromthe‘GPSSETUP’menu,select‘UTCTIME’then
press the CALLbutton.TheHourscursorwillbeashing.
2. Usethe or keystoselectthehoursthenpressthe
CALLbutton.TheMinutescursorwillash.
3. Usethe or keystoselecttheminutesthenpress
the CALLbutton.TheSecondscursorwillash.
4. Usethe or keystosetthesecondsthenpressthe
CALLbutton.
Theradioreturnstothe‘SETUP’Menu.
NOTE: Thetimewillbeerasedafter23hoursorwhenthe
radioisswitchedoff.
TIME OFFSET
LetsyousetthetimedifferencebetweenUTCtimeandyour
localtime.Thiswillallowtheradiotodisplaylocaltime.A
listofTimeoffsetsisinthebackofthismanual.
To set the Time Offset:
1. Fromthe‘GPSSETUP’menu,select‘TIMEOFFSET’then
press the CALLbutton.
2. Usethe or keystosetthetimeoffsetfrom
-12:00hrsto+13:00hrsin30minutesegments.
3. PresstheCALLbuttontoacceptandreturntothe‘GPS
SETUP’Menu.
GPS DISPLAY
SelectswhetherornottodisplayyourGPSpositiononthe
LCD.IftheGPSdisplayin‘ON’butaGPSreceiverisnot
connected,‘NOGPS’isdisplayedinstead.
1. Fromthe‘GPSSETUP’menu,select‘GPSDISPLAY’then
press the CALLbutton.
2. Usethe or keystoselect‘OFF’or‘ON’.
3. PresstheCALLbuttontoacceptandreturntothe‘GPS
SETUP’Menu.
GPS ALERT
TheGX600DmonitorstheNMEAportsforGPSdataand
cansoundanalarmiftheGPSpositiondataislostoris
disconnected.TheGPSAlertoptionhasthreesettings–OFF,
ONandAUTO.
OFF–TheGPSAlarmisturnedoff.ValidGPSpositiondata
appliedtotheNMEAportswillbeusedbytheGX600D
butyouwillnotbealertedifthepositiondataislost.
ON–TheGPSalarmwillsoundiftherehasbeenno
validGPSpositionfor30seconds.EithertheGPSposition
hasbeenlostoryourGPSdeviceisnotconnectedor
switchedon.
AUTO–TheGX600Dwillautomaticallydetermineifa
GPSdatasourceisconnectedandwillonlysoundthe
alarmifvalidGPSdatawasdetectedthenlost.Thisisthe
recommended(default)setting.
ToselecttheGPSAlertsetting
1. Fromthe‘GPSSETUP’menu,select‘GPSAlert’then
press the CALLbutton.
2. Usethe or keystoselect‘OFF’,‘AUTO’or‘ON’.
3. PresstheCALLbuttontoacceptandreturntothe‘GPS
SETUP’Menu.
