Control of Substances Hazardous to Health
Under Section 6 of The Health and Safety at Work Act
1974, we are required to provide information on substances
hazardous to health.
The adhesives and sealants used in this appliance are cured
and give no known hazard in this state.
Electrical Connection
The unit MUST be earthed.
It MUST be connected to a permanent 230V ac, 50Hz
supply.
Connection of the whole electrical system of the unit,
including any heating controls, to the electrical supply must
be through one common isolator and must be fused to 3
Amps maximum.
The colours of three core exible cable are, blue - neutral,
brown - live, green and yellow - earth.
The local mains power isolator must always be easily
accessible.
Testing and Certication
The Atmosorb is tested and certicated for safety and
performance. It is, therefore, important that no alteration is
made to the unit, without permission, in writing,
by Glow-worm. Any alteration not approved by Glow-worm,
could invalidate the certication, unit warranty and may also
infringe the current issue of the statutory requirements.
CE Label
The CE label shows that the Atmosorb ventilation unit
complies with the basic requirements of the following
directives and guidelines:
– Low-voltage Directive 73/23/EEC, modied with
Directive 93/68/EEC.
– EMC-Directive 89/336/EEC, modied by the Directive
91/263/EEC, 92/31/EEC and 93/68/EEC.
Assembly and Installation
The installation of the device can only be carried out by a
competent person approved at the time by the Health and
Safety Executive who will be responsible for the correct
installation and start-up.
The competent person approved at the time by the Health
and Safety Executive, will also be responsible for the
inspection and the corrective maintenance of the device as
well as for the changes in the air ow adjustment.
If the system is used for ventilation in locations with room-
dependent combustion equipment depending on the room
air, the corresponding ue gas extraction systems must
be checked and maintained by a trained technician. It is
mandatory to prevent ue gas leakage from the combustion
equipment.
