Operating Instructions
Operating the Electric Grill
Beforeoperatinggrill,itshouldbecheckedtoseethatitissittinglevel.Adjustthefeettolevelthegrill.Besurethe
catchtrayhasbeenproperlyplaced.
Wipeawayallthepetroleumoilthatiscoveringtheplates.Thisisonlyaprotectantforshipping.Wipeawayas
muchasyoucanandthenheatuptheunittoburnofftheremainingoil.Oncetheexcesspetroleumoilisburned
away,apumicestone,grillstone,orastainlesssteelbrushcanbeusedtobrushawaytheburntoil.
Allow 20-40 minutes for grilling plates to heat up.
NOTE: Upon rst use, grill may emit a metal-burning smell. 
This is normal and the smell will dissipate with use.
Season the surface:
Thegrillshaveacastironcookingsurface.Seasonthesurfacewithvegetableoil.
Cleanthecookingsurfacethoroughly.Afterthecookingsurfacehasbeenthoroughlycleaned,itshouldbe
seasonedtopreventfoodfromsticking.Beforeusing,andafteruse,thoroughlyscourandseasonthecooking
surfacebyheatingthesurfaceinthefollowingmanner:
 1. AdjusttheOn/Offswitchtothe“On”positionandadjustthetemperaturecontroldialto350°F.
 2. Useacleancloth,notaspatula,andspreadathinlmofcookingoilorfatoverthegrillcookingsurface. 
  Thislmshouldremainonthehotgrillfor30minutes.
 3. Removetheexcessoil/fatandwipeclean.ThegrillsurfacewillbeHOT.
 4. Applyanotherlmofcookingoilorfatoverthehotcookingsurfaceforanother30minutesand,again
  removetheexcessoil/fatandwipeclean.ThegrillsurfacewillbeHOT.
 
  Thegrillsurfaceisnowreadyforuse.
EVENWITHCAREFULSEASONING,FOODMAYSTICKTOTHEGRILLCOOKINGSURFACEUNTILTHE
GRILLPLATEIS“BROKENIN”.
Temperature Control
Thetemperatureisthermostaticallycontrolled.BesuretheOn/Offswitchisinthe“On”positionandadjustthe
thermostatdialtothedesiredsetting.NOTE:Consideralowerheatforgrillingmeats(360°F-430°F)
Cooking
 1. AdjusttheOn/Offswitchtothe“On”position.
 2. Setthethermostatdialknobatthedesiredtemperature.
 3. Afterapreheatingperiod,thethermostatwillautomaticallymaintaintheselectedtemperature.
 4. Whenthesettemperatureismet,theindicatorlightwillgooff.
 5. Ensurethegrillisonandhasmetthedesiredtemperature.
 6. Usingthehandle,raisethetopofthegrilltoexposethetopofthegrillplate.
 7. Placethefoodproductontothegrilland,usingthehandle,lowerthetopgrillplatedownontothe
  foodproduct.
 8. Aftereachtimethegrillisloaded,withacloth,papertowel,atspatulaorsuppliedscrapper,pushthe 
  excessgreaseintothecatchtray.Ifnecessary,emptythegreasereceptaclebeforeyouresumegrilling.
 
The grill surface and grease will be HOT.
