Theprotectivecaphastwopartsandistoberemovedpriortousingthedevice.Youcanobtain
asmallerobjectsectionifthemiddle,smallercapisremoved,thelargercapremainsattached.
Thecompassissupportedinliquid.Pleasenotethattheexistingairbubbleenlargesandshrinks,
dependingontheairpressureandtemperature.Furthermore,thepurposeoftheairbubbleisto
determinetheorientationofthedevice.Thecompasscanalsobeusedinamobilemanner,i.e.
notinsertedintothetelescopetube.Itisconceivablethatthecompassdoesnotpointprecisely
northwards,ifstrongdiversionsinfluencethemagneticfield,e.g.electronicdevices,powerlines
andmetal(cars).
Thecompasshastwodirectionaldisplays.Theupper,lowerdisplayshowstherealdirection.The
largedisplayaroundtheoutsideshowsthe“viewdirection”.
